Jake E. Lee

I just heard that Jake's solo album "A Fine Pink Mist" now has a European release. (Lower price!) Does anyone have this album? Any opinions?
Thanks!

RE: Jake is not THAT desperate!

Dear John Q,
Do you know JEL personally, how do you know how
much JEL needs money. I dont see him making $ since the Ozzy
days, what has he done that will net him as much money as hired help
in the HOL reunion. Do you want him to die like Jaco Pastorius who was
one of the greatest bass players of all time, died a poor musician waiting for
the perfect project..
Talented guys like JEL need to put bread on their tables.
So JEL in HOL would be welcome, let alone the great guitar solos
he will produce.

But I guess the members of "one of the most prolific band of the last millennium" are the only ones who haven't figured that out yet. Greg and company released three epic albums, so just leave it at that, guys. You'll never recapture the old glory...

Peter

If Jake joins HOL full-time I'll lose all respect for him. He's far too talented to waste his time on a lame cash-in reunion no one needs.

Only one song on this album that even has spoken words. I just couldn't get into it. I was just hoping for some songs.

Actually, this is a very well COMPOSED album with some incredible songs as far as guitar albums go. To call this a 'wankfest' (implying that it is one of those mindless (Shrapnel) noodler albums a la George Bellas, Joe Stump and all those other Yngwie wannabes) is WAY off-base! A guitar record isn't automatically a self-indulgent mess just because there are no vocals on it. 'Pink Mist' happens to be one of the most diverse and interesting guitar albums anyone could hope to buy. In fact, if it wasn't for the programmed drums which distract at times, AFPM would be close to flawless. Jake E Lee hasn't composed anything even remotely mediocre since he's been on his own and 'A Fine Pink Mist' is no exception.
