I am a huge fan of Dan Huff's playing (and singing) on both of the Giant albums. I am not aware of any other projects that he has been involved in to such a significant extent,can anyone help me here?? I realise he is a sought after session guitarist and has played with Robert Tepper,Shania Twain etc.........,I'm after stuff where he plays a bigger role than that. Any recommendations? Thanks. Hi Vince,

I can't speak for JL on this, but after I get done with this next album currently in the works, I'd do it in a heartbeat! It was pretty amazing how he and I worked on a tune in so short a time. I put some music together in about 20 mins, took a break and JL and I went out for some grub and drinks, grabbed a few waitress girls, knocked him out a few times in the boxing ring, and grabbed some shut-eye.

When I woke up he was in the ring training to whoop on me (which he eventually did after I knocked him out like 80 times...lol....I think he still would have been here if he hadn't of beat me at least once....talk about determination!) but he had all the lyrics and the hook ready to go. We both got kinda busy in our personal lives and never got a chance to finish the song but we did start the pre-production for it. One of these days Vince ya just never know......but hell yeah, I'd be up for it with no questions asked. JL is a class act both musically and personally. And he made me laugh like I never did before in my life! Picture 2 hair daddy children laughing so hard their faces were killing them without the ability to breath......did I mention tears?!! "Butterbean Butterbean Butterbean!" Don't use him next time JL. LMMFAO! Peace....

Somebody quite rightly mentioned his work with WHITEHEART but really, his work on both of the VAN STEPHENSON albums 'Righteous Anger' and 'Suspicious Heart' is well worthy of your attention. Likewise worth tracking down are the first two ROBERT TEPPER albums 'No Easy Way Out' which HUFF played on (along with GIANT'S Alan Pasqua!) and 'The Unforgiven' from 1988 which again, HUFF supplied the guitars for. He also got credit for arranging a great 'duet' on that album called 'Fighting For You' with a girl called Carroll Sue Hill.
And, for trivia fans, that album also contained backing vocals by an unknown girl called...TORI AMOS!!

I haven't checked out Dann's site but the list could well be endless and I'm just a little surprised no one beat me to this info! Stll he's definatley worthy of 'Godlike status' in the world of AOR. I hope you don't stop writing music...I really think your cd is great! I played it for my mate Richie over the phone and he went crazy!

I don't know how you got all those great musicians to play on your album...but the truth is you really don't need them because your music shines!

The "convert everyone" attitude is the reason I never listen to any Christian rock albums....not to mention that many of them are substandard releases, but we won't talk about that just now....

As for Mr Huff...I dont know what his production work sounds like on any of those country albums....but the last two Megadeth albums are some the most poorly produced albums I have ever heard...absolute shite!!!!

Dann's played on records from everyone from Whitesnake to Madonna. His most significant AOR contributions pre-Giant were with Van Stephenson and I seem to recall him also being involved with Geoff Moore And The Distance.
He is THE session guy on country and Christian Rock records and some of his more recent work has been with Shania Twain.
The Megadeth albums he produced though sucked! What WAS Mustaine thinking of with that material?!
