Nine Days

The Nine Days single 'Absolutely(Story of a Girl)' is getting U.K. radio airplay! Lots of it! Could this be the start of the new revolution? Here's hoping!

RE: Nine Days

Exactly the point! Perhaps people should open their ears a little more, and not judge the product by the cover. The funny thing is a lot of these people would probably go bundle on the new Enuff Z'nuff album-which is rather good, despite the Cheap Trick cover, ahem-and how far is EZ from TSAR and Co? Not far I venture to suggest!

RE: Nine Days

Ace,

I'd describe Tsar as 'Jellyfish on speed'! (If you know what Jellyfish sound like, that is!!)

Nine days as sfk kurt says is more in the MATCHBOX 20 mould with a touch of BARENAKED LADIES and even BRYAN ADAMS!

NEVE I love the most and remind me of a rockier REMBRANDTS at times because they use a lot of dual harmonies, a bit like CROWDED HOUSE but please don't let these comparisons put you off.

Most of the bands have sound samples available at their sites. Try using the 'Ultimate Band List' site at www.ubl.com It's the best site for searching for general band sites and will list all the official and unofficial sites for each band.

Check them out. There's a lot of good music coming out at the moment and at last it's exciting to be into rock again.

To be honest, they even leave Mars Electric behind!!
OK they don't look like Firehouse circa 1990, and the singer doesn't contort himself into spasms to hit high 'c' at every available opportunity, but does that really matter when the songs are so well-written, and executed?! Don't think so!

I picked up Ninedays in a South Coast second hand store last month for well under a tenner. Bargain of the year.
BMG should get its act together and release SR-71 in the UK. It was even partly recorded in Sheffield for ***ks sake! A&R by David Bendeth, who 'discovered' Big House I seem to recall. 'Last Moon On The Moon' is fantastic. Loved the ad-libbed line about one armed astronauts at the end. Highly amusing!
