I'm absolutely dying to hear these albums. Advance reviews of the new Heartland album have been sensational and I suggest if you haven't heard this band check out their new release "As it Comes". Disappointed about the holding back of the Journey album but if it's full of mid-tempo slower numbers as some have indicated I could be disappointed. I hear the new Newman album due out in two weeks is a "real rocker" and the best yet. Got it on order. The next few weeks should be a smorgasbord of "aural satisfaction". BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take out 2 of the ballads and replace them with mid/uptempo rockers and the album would have been perfect.

As it stands now, the album is not perfect (although the songs are...)
It's just the tempo is too slow (especially on the second half) and it doesn't deliver what was promised....a return to Escape and Frontiers.

I will do a FULL feature review in a few weeks when I have listened to it about 1000 times :)

I agree it could have been more of a harder edged record but it doesn't detract
from the quality as far as I am concerned.
People have had a downer on Journey ever since Raised On Radio but I would take them anytime over a lot of the current crop of releases ( a lot of which are old demo's thinly disguised as new recordings ).
While I am on the subject of old demo's I have said this before, if the music is
good enough to be heard then fine, but labels please note it would be nice if you
stated when these tracks were recorded.

The production is awesome and it pisses all over most of anything in the same style I've heard for a long time and that is without Steve Perry. I can't wait to buy the Jap version to hear the extra tracks and get the benefit of hifi sound.
