House of Shakila

I find this band name interesing and recent album's cover showing image of Nepali Temple atractive but I have no clue whatsoever how they sound like. They will release their best soon so it may be the opportunity.

Would anyone tell us about this band?

Thanks

He did background vocals on both the "Lint" and "On the Verge" cds. Check out Andrew's soundbytes for a sample of his voice. He did vox for all 3 bonus songs on the new "Best Of" cd.

Kevin

He did sing backing vocals on the first cd at least and is listed on Lint. He was the main writing and creative force of the band. He grew up in South Africa, I believe, which is where those influences that you hear on the cds came from. He really wasn't replaced but his contract just stopped him from being able to record with HOS. His voice is not as strong as the current singer but it is very smooth and after a few listens, I liked it better.

Tom

RE: House of Shakira

Susumu,

They are a great band but the singer is not the original singer or writer of most of the songs off the cds. The original singer had signed a deal with another label that prevented him from singing with House Of Shakira and he wrote most of the songs for the band. The new singer on the cds is very good but I prefer the original singer, although I'm probably in the minority. I have 17 songs with the original singer, all cd quality and I like him better. Just a little history for you. Enjoy the cds.

Tom
