GODS venue, Maximes, Wigan.

Are drunken posts allowed?

Just got back from 'softies night' (that would be AOR night to you) at Maximes and I have to say that It was the best night out I've had for ages. I can only liken it to taking your record collection out for the night and hearing it played on 11! You will not hear a finer selection of melodic rock tunes played outside of your bedroom, and some would be extremely surprised to see me say that!!

Where else could you go IN THE WORLD and hear AVIATOR, WHITE SISTER,
FM, HARDLINE and see the dancefloor FILL to MITCH MALLOY!!!!

Whoever the DJ was you roooled man! But I still think the 'new breed' is where it's at in 2000!

Phillipie once stunned an audience of several with a chiffon off the shoulder number in '79, but lost his crown the next year to the Irish king Kieran O' McDargan who had the shirt/waistcoat combination in a devilish blue silky thing!!

Is it not true that the big T once held an audience with Gavo Mulletwhenyung, during which he astiounded Gavo with tales of far away places such as Leigh and Tyldesley, leaving Gavo panting for breath (similar to a short run to the fridge for more food).

Is this all not true..

Well no not really!!

Have at you.

Not only does this man possess the loudest shirts in the known universe, he also boasts an uncanny talent for DIY. I am told by a reliable source that he recently spent the afternoon hanging light fittings and repairing doors at fellow band mate Paul 'I could get pickles out of a jar with this nose' Sidebotham's hideaway mansion! Is there no end to this man's cack....ahem, I mean talent.

Cheers,

Loz

P.S. Apparently, Tony hates losing almost as much as he loves fighting!!!!

Is it not better to go to a place and be SURPRISED to hear tracks you haven't heard for ages, or AMAZED that they are playing one of your favourites rather than having it all PLANNED and LISTED before hand?
I was in Maximes on Friday and they played some excellent stuff. I requested Valentine and White Sister which I got, but I was just as happy with Y&T, Two Fires, Melodica, Autograph and 'not the same old' Tyketto songs.
I would rather have an element of mystery in what's coming next than the poor DJ being bombarded with lists of what he should play.
I suggest you leave him to it. He is a brilliant DJ and he has very good taste, so I don't think any of you who are making the trip will be at all disappointed with the selection.

Any more takers for the loud shirt contest?
