Hi all ! Just wondering on Shy... First album of theirs I encountered was 'Welcome To The Madhouse', the one with Wardi on vox ... and it blew me away (apart from that horrible first song) !! Then a friend made me a copy of 'Excess All Areas' and I was far less impressed. (now please don't come attacking me for not thinking it's the best album ever ; all tastes differ, and I like what I like, and if I don't like what you like then that's too bad but it's the way it is). That swing just wasn't there. Not a bad album, though. Next I got 'Regeneration', and although the production of that album wasn't the greatest (to say the least), the energy was there, and I loved (the larger part of) it. So this is what I have on Shy so far... Considering my remarks, do you guys think I should get another album of theirs ? ('Misspent Youth' maybe?) Hello all SHY fans!

Yes the band just signed to Z Records in Europe and will release a new CD
by the end of the year. It should sound similiar to "Excess All Areas" from
1987. "Excess" is an EXCELLENT cd and so is "Misspent Youth" released
in 1990 on MCA Records here in the USA. "Give It All You Got" was a big
hit from that cd in 1990 on American hard rock radio and the video got lots
of airplay on MTV! I highly recommend all thier cd's and can't wait for the
new release coming soon.....

I still like Excess, it has some great tunes, I may have to listen to it again.

I have their first album The Language Of Menace, it´s OK, good performances but a bit too quasi-Dream Theater for me.
