Biggest ego / arrogant jerk in rock.....

Which rock star have you met or seen in person that seemed to be nothing more
than an arrogant prick who was stuck on him/her self???

Opinions very...my sister met Kip Winger at an autograph signing session in a record store....she said he just sat there with this faky smile, signed autographs, & didn't talk to anyone. However, another friend of mine said Kip was real cool.

Personally.....never met this person, & don't want to....but I think the lead singer from the Black Crowes seems like a MAJOR DICKHEAD!

He's obviously very full of himself - justifiably when you consider what he's achieved - but was very able to send himself up. For instance, we were discussing Kiss bootlegs and he told me he prefers audience recordings to soundboards or radio broadcasts, because on them you can hear people saying things like, 'Wow, didn't Simmons get fat!' inbetween the songs. It made me laugh anyway...

Sometimes he's cool, other times he's not. Depends on his mood. You should read the experience that someone shared on Metal Sludge they had with him on the Reunion tour. Better yet, you should hear the phone conversation I had with him last year. First of all, he lies to me and says that, and I quote, "I'm sitting here signing litterally thousands of onion skins so everybody gets their copy of KISSTORY II...signed". Guess what? They are NOT SIGNED! Then he goes on about how, being I own a KISS Platinum card, that I need to "get a life" and how he tried to turn everything around on me to make it look like I wanted him to drop everything for me. No, on the contrary. I just wanted what I was entitled to.

Ever since the reunion tour, they don't really have time for people who they consider "pee-ons". You know...the people who supported them all through the non-makeup years. Since they are popular again, they have more time for people who are dignitary figures to keep their names in the papers. They really take that for granted. If you heard this phone call I had with Gene, you'd DEFINITELY be in agreement. Fortunately, Tommy Thayer has been quite accomidating and has for the most part, taken care of me.

This was when he had just joined Def Leppard, on the Adrenalize tour. We had all our Leppard, Dio, Shadowking, Whitesnake (at least the EP with his ugly face on) albums with us. He just completely ignored us, laughed at us and went up to his hotel room. By the way he's a shity guitarplayer as well. He completly ruined Steve Clarks solos. For the record, all the other Leppard guys are really cool. Taking time out and speaking with everyone. Had the pleasure meeting Steve Clark on the Hysteria tour also. God bless his soul.

Nicest person I've met is PAUL LAINE of Danger Danger (and I've met quite a few "rockstars") First we got our cd's signed, then he invited us in to the club, sat down with us and talked for more than an hour. He had some great stories to tell. Remember he used to work at Little mountain studios back in the early 90's.
We also got to see the band soundcheck. The other D2 guys were great as well...

By the way I've also met Yngwie and he was totally cool to me. But I've heard a story when a guy wanted to get his bootlegs signed. Yngwie just told him . "Hey I'm not making any money on those" :-)

/Daniel

There's lots of tales of prima donna behavior and downright rude insanity. The one with the most asshole stories to his credit seems to be Gene Simmons, who time and again has come across as an ungrateful & self-centered clown who cares primarily about the money. During the soundcheck the bar owner asked me to give him a ride back to thier room and kevin looked at me and said i aint riding with a f#%*kin groupie i just laughed at him and said i never liked quiet riot in my life so how could i be a groupie. Then while they played a girl tried to touch his hand and he stopped singin and said dont you ever touch me. By the time they finished he had threatend the bars soundman and basically told all the fans they werent worthy of seeing him live and stomped off the stage yelling obscenities at the owner and crowd. I never really liked them anyway but after that i would never suport them at all. I met Jani lane from warrant the month before and he was the coolest person i ever met he talked with everyone and posed for pics with us

I know, he had a big mouth in the 80's, but I don't belive this prick has learned his lesson.

I ran into him at the Rainbow Bar & Grill and a friend and I started to talk to him. He was really nice for about 10 minutes, so naturally I thought he had changed. After we ate dinner, I stopped by his table where he was sitting with members of Quiet Riot and Ratt. I had remembered I had picked up some excellent CD bootlegs of the first 2 Quiet Riot albums with Randy Rhoads. I thought I'd let him know in case he wasn't aware of their exsistance. After waiting(and not interupting anyone), I was telling Kevin goodbye and proceeded to tell him of what I had. He then stated, rather prick-ishly, "I think I know my music history and I'm quite aware of what is and isn't out there", then just turns away as if I had asked him for $100. Well, exCUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME!

One thing Mr. DuBrow is not aware of...how many fans he has cost the band...to this day. By the way Mr. DuBrow, as for your Metal Sludge 20 Questions, you need to have HAIR in order for extensions to work. You can't grow hair on a cue ball with Miracle-Gro.

I've also met Ace Frehley 3 times in his solo career. Major prick every single time.

The only other slightly arrogant rockstars I've met are Gene Simmons and Gary Cherone (when VH came to Australia,he seemed very aloof to the fans and not interested in VH fans per se,just his own ordinary effort on VH III)

However, another friend of mine said Kip was real cool.

Personally.....never met this person, & don't want to....but I think the lead singer from the Black Crowes seems like a MAJOR DICKHEAD!
