Attention Derek Oliver!

Derek,

I was just looking through the sleevenotes of the new POINTBREAK album (UK boyband) and I noticed that a lot of the songs are written by a D.Oliver and B.Adams, and I was just wondering...?

Could that explain why the opening to 'Stand Tough' is a direct lift from LILLIAN AXE, 'The world stops turning on me'?

We, the public, deserve to be told!! LOL!

RE: Hey Dave! Have you heard...

Yeah CLASSIC ROCK could do a good feature on all these great new bands coming out of the States like NINE DAYS, NEVE, MARVELLOUS 3, MARS ELECTRIC etc.
And they're are perfect for CLASSIC ROCK's target audience too. Go to it!
Personally I think that a lot of people who won't check these bands out 'coz they don't have 'big hair' etc are losing out big time. This is where melodic rock IS in 2000 and if we're not careful the chance of it becoming big again could slip away.
Just got to get the record labels and radio on board now!

Interesting that all these bands are from the States though. Are the UK arms of these labels not watching the ball?

Rumour has it that Pointbreak is comprised of the sons of former members of Derek Oliver's Kroydon.
Hmm. I always thought the picture of D.O.K. that was printed in 'Kerrang!' all those years ago now looked suspiciously like Hungarian Space Rock combo Omega to me.....
