MP3 editing?

Hallo,

Do any of you computer geniuses know of a program where I can edit an MP3? As in, cutting out a certain part at the end that I don't like or is too long, or maybe making a fade out, that sort of thing, so I can put the edited version onto CD.....

Any ideas?

Many thanks!
Cheers,
Jack.

Thanks a bunch....

Thanks so much, both of you! I've been dying to do some editing on a crapload of songs and this is such a relief....especially the MP3Trim thing that Tinger mentioned, which is great. I prefer not meddling around changing them into WAV and back, because for some reason, the files go crazy on me when I turn them back to MP3 and have distortion and crackle in them (?).

However, the only thing the MP3Trim program is missing is the ability to frankenstein files. Meaning, to put a bit of one file into another or two songs in the same MP3 file, that sort of thing.....that'd be really cool.

Thanks again, lads!

Cheers,
Jack.

RE: MP3 editing?

Yo Jack...
I haven't seen any MP3 editors myself...
For most songs that I edit I usually use WinAmps Diskwriter feature to write the MP3 out to a WAV file. Then I use Steinberg Wavelabs 2 to edit the wav file. Once finished I use Xing Audiocatalyst to reencode the wav back to mp3...

Adios!
Richard.
