This month's MP3s! Comments....

Hey folks & Andrew,

The only Glass Tiger release I have in my collection is the Best of CD, Air Time...I really like it cause of the variety and Alan Frew's voice soars with a distinctiveness that I love....many of the best songs from the Best Of seem to be from the Simple Mission CD, and now listening to Andrew's MP3, it does seem like it's worth buying the thing. Can anyone tell me if the whole CD is good? Thanks!

You know, I have the Chesney Hawkes song, but strangely enough on a pretty weird CD....it;s like a soundtrack for this cheap movie he made with Roger Daltrey (?), and he's standing on the cover with a pink guitar looking like a wimpy kid but I snapped it up anyway....I've never seen that version available again either in Mexico or the States....I guess he had it on another album, a normal CD?

BTW, that's not STP doing the acoustic rendition of Pour Some Sugar....it's none other than.....(drum roll)......Def Leppard!!! Trust me on this one, I have it and it's them!

Cheers!
Jack.

Here's my guess.....

Okay, maybe I'm talking out of my ass here, but let me take a shot in the dark. Since it was a radio broadcast, and Dare unfortunately never reached enough popularity so as to warrant a radio transmission of one of thier shows.....the expedient is that it was some sort of tribute show to Phil Lynott. Maybe a Thin Lizzy one-off reunion show to pay homage or something like that. And in that case, maybe that's the only Dare song they played, or maybe there are more but only a setlist of two or three more Dare songs and the rest were Lizzy song. After all, wasn't Darren like Lynott's prótegé or something like that?

So, am I right, Andrew? What do I get if I'm right? Do I get a hug? We all need hugs, man.....

You know, a funny tidbit - I was consulting with my omnipotent friend, the Encyclopedia, and she says the band name Dare was actually an idea from, out of all people, Lemmy of Motorhead (who thought of a derivation of Darren's name).

Go figure.

Cheers,
Jack.
