Talking Aussie bands again...

Sorry people, I picked up a nice price CD the other day and it just reminded me of the dribble we had re Aussie rock bands past and present not long ago, and I'd forgotten these guys. The Screaming Jets - heard of 'em? The CD I got was their relatively recently released best of disc, bits and pieces from all of their discs, and two tracks from their forthcoming release. Fantastic pub rock, these guys are up there with The Poor. These guys made a bit of an impression on the US scene earlier in the 90's didn't they? I've got a few of their discs now, and the new tracks are sensashe, so I'll be getting that when it comes out as well! Just thought I'd get that crap off my chest.

Cheers and beers

The Jets were big news in the early 90's in the u.k and if their last album had been released here it would of sold very well given the right marketing.

I wa beginning to think that no one apart from myself liked these guys outside of Australia.

Really?

The Church? Aren't they an English band? Something to do with the milky way? Tell me I've got this wrong man, please, lol. The only band I can think of that have anything to do with a church from here are the Choirboys - and lets not take anything away from them, they had a fantastic album in the late 80's called "Big Bad Noise" - tracks like "Run To Paradise" and "Struggle Town". Great album man!

Cheers and Beers

Benno

RE: Talking Aussie bands again...

Benno, the Screaming Jets may have a record deal in the US, but they never made much an impression over here. That goes for Kings Of The Sun (weren't they from Oz...?) and The Poor as well. Which is a crying shame where the latter are concerned because it doesn't get much better than 'Who Cares?' in the genre of balls out, kick ass rock'n'roll. I always thought that the Jets and Kings (what's with these hockey team names...?) paled in comparison. And then you punished us with Silverchair - who people...the kiddies anyway, went mad for! Typical - ignore the good stuff and buy the crap... Sheesh! But, you Aussies shall be forgiven for your country as blessed us with AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, and The Angels. ;-)
