Marvelous 3/Southgang

Just heard the 1st single from the Marveolus 3's new cd "Ready Sex Go" due out in late Aug early Sept.
Song is called "SUGARBUZZ" and it's an awsome song!!!! A lot more rockin but still FUN with the traditional silly "Butch-like" lyrics. =)
The single should be hitting the radio waves in the next few weeks so listen for it and let me know what you think.

RE: Hanson

Because Hanson do actually play instruments and write songs, they deserve more respect than the Backdoor Boys/N'Suck type of talentless prefab managment puppet acts. However, calling "Mmm Bop" the work of a rock band would be a big stretch. The best comparison would probably be the Bay City Rollers, in terms of a bubble gum group with actual musical capabilities. Whether these guys would ever be accepted as a serious rock band is doubtful, even if they really try. But then again Trevor Rabin of Yes was once in a band with one of the Bay City Rollers, so who's to say one of the Hanson brothers might not be a real rock star some day?

As for the question of them firing their managment.... I was under the impression that their parents were their managers. Is this no longer the case?

These 3 kids are so damn talented it's scary. They're just getting started writing pop songs, and they're already this good?

JK

RE: Hanson

I have to say I think Taylor Hanson has a fantastic voice. He could well turn out to be the Paul Rodgers/Robert Hart of his generation. Unfortunately I think they have a major problem trying to regain some credibility solely for being so damn young when the first album was released. How do you convince a 30/40 year old audience to listen to a band who were on the cover of 'Smash Hits'? That's the dilemma. Their 'target' audince is very different from the one they get. But it's down to the record company to sort that out right?

I hardly think anyone will take any notice of me here but the new album 'This Time Around' is well worth checking out. More bluesy this time with the addition of teen blues sensation Johnny Lang contributing on a few tunes. And yes they do write all their own songs on this album.

Just don't dismiss them quite yet.
