Z 2001 MOVES TO LARGER VENUE

Man, it's about time a label put there money where there mouth is, congratulations to Z Records for trying to push their shows to a larger audience with their show to be held at THE RITZ in Manchester.
I'll be definitely going to Z2001 after this years show [and the Gods if it happens].
The best thing is that the line up is nearly all acts whom I have not seen yet, does anyone know of any other acts whom maybe appearing ? I mailed Z yesterday and they said Danny Danzi, Damned Nation and Savannah would not be on next years show,
so who will play ?

RE: Z - Records

I disagree here,
Don't forget THE GODS in 1998 had HUMAN RACE a Z Records band, DARE an MTM band and HEARTLAND from Escape music on, so you see it is possible for these labels to work together, all these guys at the labels are the ones who have bought the scene single handidly to where it stands today, especially here in the UK, where without these labels we would have nothing in the way of concerts except for a few of the MAJOR LABEL bands.
Be careful for what you wish for because one day it may happen and we may have NOTHING period, wasn't it bad enough before Now And Then came along? quit babbling and support them and everyone else from Z to Kivel and Song Haus Music for gods (sorry) sake, and stop bitching, instead of posting silly messages of compalint on this board, go and listen to the bands instead!!!

I think the labels need to stop battling at each other and support one another, because at the end of the day the fans will buy the albums if they are good, regardless of what label they come out on. Actual the labels do keep themselves to themselves and there's not much battling as they all do there own thing, but it's mostly people who post messages on here that stir things up, so a label has to answer, if someone spat at your mother what would you do? Sit and watch? I don't think so!!
I think we all should be supportive, never mind your points of wether you like a particular band or not, if you like an album, tell your mates to go and buy it, supporte the labels that support us in giving us most of the time quality melodic hard rock and AOR. I do feel that these labels lack in progressive music and should take a chance in one of these bands, there are so many good ones on the underground scene to be snapped up.
Over and out!!!!

On the other hand could you see Now & Then let Ten support one of the above the answer is no.
Both labels are different, Now & Then is more Pink and AOR where as Z Records are an out and out Melodic Hard Rock label and both believe in their material.
As I said before Z Records are currently out promoting and maybe even out selling [not sure] their opposition here in rainy Nottingham, maybe this will make the other labels follow with some good promotion !.

Lonesome Dave

As an example, when Z backed a publication MHR all sorts of hell was visited upon them, yet another label backs a new publication due out shortly, and there is not a peep of complaint. Double standards in operation here?!
Like every other label, Z has released some great stuff, eg, Jekyll & Hyde-check out Jake's new demo- and some poop eg Push. But again they are pushing (sorry)things for their benefit-it's a business-and for the benefit of what it is still a pretty lethargic scene.

No-one had ever done anything like that before and we put together a stunning line-up of acts, flew in the likes of Mark Free, Jeff Paris, Paul Laine, Shotgun Symphony etc to play their first ever UK shows. Just once it would be nice if we were given a bit of credit.

Bye for now,
Mark
