<title>RE: Charlie Sexton??</title><link>http://www.melodicrock.com/phorum52/read.php?1,2311,2346#msg-2346</link><description><![CDATA[ Hi Peter and hi Jack....<br /><br />Self titled from 1989 is a slick smooth ass AOR masterpiece and Picture For Pleasure is a pure pop rock high-tech masterpiece in the vein on Rick Springfield.<br /><br />The guy is a God!<br /><br />But his Charlie Sexton Sextet album from early 90's is more acoustic blues based and is a little boring.<br />Since then...nothing!<br /><br />He was also involved in ArcAngel with guys from Stevie Ray Vaughns band. good again, but blues pop rock.<br /><br />There is a bunch of soundtrack stuff too....Mail me jack if you want a CDR of his best and rare OST stuff...<br /><br />See ya,<br />Andrew.]]></description>

Especially &quot;Blowing Up Detroit&quot; is still one of my fave tracks from the 80's. I think he did a couple of solo albums even before that. &quot;Pictures Of Pleasure&quot; was released around 1985, I think. That one has more of a bluesy edge though. And then there's also the great Arc Angels album he did with the two guys from Stevie Ray Vaughan's band, C. Layton and T. Shannon. Also bluesy, but still lots of good hooks and melodies. More recently, he released the Sexton Sextet CD called &quot;Under A Wishing Tree&quot;. Definitely a more modern and moody sounding affair, but if you invest a little bit of time, you might like it.
