Hey Joe! This Crue single...

Right, let's get this straight I like the Crue and I'm still looking forward to hearing 'New Tattoo' but after hearing 'Hell in high heels' I have to say I think Sixx is just full full of shit!

How can this man have sly digs at Metallica over the Napster issue, making out they were gold diggers when he has made such a blatant attempt at ressurrecting the Crue's 'glory days' by rehashing the 'Girls Girls Girls' era sound? First few listens and it just sounds like an out take from that album but without the recognisable sound of Tommy on the drums. Which is a shame because I really rate Randy Castillo.

No, I'm sorry but for me Sixx is just trying to put food on the table (or is that snow on the mirror?) by taking the easy option. It pisses me off because this is the same guy who was responsible for the MOTLEY CRUE (Corabi) album which was pretty awesome and creatively brave. Now I believe Tommy can take the moral higher ground (in the case of the music at least!) because at least METHODS OF MAYHEM is his own thing and, creatively again, I think he's totally succeeded. It may not be popular with contributors to this board but I really rate it (For what it's worth!)

Like I said I'll still be listening to 'New Tattoo', I'm just afraid that all Sixx wants to hear is the sound of the tills ringing in the background at the expense of what he really wanted to stretch out and do.

But maybe I'm wrong. Do people just want to hear the past re written all over again?

I think the single is great and I thought the album would follow in the same vein as JBJ had previously suggested. Fact is, 'Crush' is a very ordinary record. I really want to like it, hell I used to love this band, but to me they just sound like they ran out of ideas.

Cheers,

Gav

MAny people seem to be saying that the Bon Jovi album isn't like the "its my life " single. Given the positive response to that song it makes you wonder if they should have made the whole album in that vein.

cheers

I haven't really listened much to them since the early nineties but was a fan in the 80's. The new drummer certainly fits their music. The sound of this song was great too. If the album is as good as the song they can be very pleased with themselves. Well done and rock on Motley Crue.

RE: Hey Joe! This Crue single...

We all know that Nikki has some some outrageous things in the past. But I honestly think the reason for Gen Swine was for the techo feel of Tommy. Randy seems like he wants to play this type of music, as it seems Nikki, Mick, and Vince want to also.
Personally I like the song alot. Hearing it made me more excited for the album.

And I dont think Nikki's digs were about Metallica and NApster. It was more about how the Banned the 600,000+ fans. 300,000 the first time and again last week.
We all know that Motley wont sell multiple platinum again, so he cant just be in it for the money. He was on tourbus.com doing an interview and he said he LOVES napster. On the Motley site he told the fans where they could go to download it, and then put the single on their own site. Will Metallica Do that? Will any other hard rock band do that? He seems truly excited about making this music again.
Whether you like it or not, that is your opinion. But I think you already have your mind made up for you when you said this
<<First few listens and it just sounds like an out take from that album but without the recognisable sound of Tommy on the drums. Which is a shame because I really rate Randy Castillo.>>

To me Randy sounded great on the drums in this song. And you asked if people want to hear the past Rewritten over again. To me, if people are missing the sound of Tommy then Those people are wanting to hear the past. Randy is the future.

But for Tommy. Although I personally can not stand his new CD, I have a bit of respect for his professional life. Although he beats his wife and all the unlawful stuff he does, quitting was the right thing for him to do. How many of us HATE going to our jobs, but stay there because it is a steady paycheck? Well, he had enough guts to quit and find a new job. To me that was ballsy. But I also think his new music sucks. :)
