Hugo's Time On Earth(2)

I am glad Hugo's Time On Earth keep on climbing in Amazon.com sales chart(last time I posted this topic ranking is about 32000 to 39000 now about 21000 to 25000. Still long way for Eye of The Storm(14000 to 19000) and Danger Danger(8000 to 9000) but I am glad there has been growing awareness of MHR music among Amazon.com users.

In last round of talks favorite Time On Earth tracks are being discussed.

Favorite tracks from that album include:

ANYONE IN LOVE
TELL IT TO MY HEART
BLUES FOR YOU
I WILL BE WAITING
LAST ONE MORE TIME
FINE
MAGIC POWER

Wow...almost any tracks. Never had I seen so many favorite tracks from one single album. I would like to hear the opinion about comparison with Steve Perry
or his first album.

Thanks

So amazon com sales ranking of 10000 means there are 9999 albums which sells better than particular album. The smaller the number of the ranking the better the sales figure.

Regards

Susumu

RE: Amazon Ranking system

Quite simple really. The ranking of an artist is directly proportional to the lack of artistic creativy and the commercial sell-out potential of an artist. How else to explain the Korn's, Limp Bizkits, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin's at the top of the charts whilst our aor/hard rock heroes languish in the nether regions? If there was any justice bands like Danger Danger and Heartland would be at the top of the list.
Naturally, I'm being cynical as the ratings are based on overall sales.KAOS FAN.

RE: Amazon Ranking system

Amazon.com ranking is as far as I know is quite reliable. Because if you compare Billboard 100 albums and how it is ranked in Amazon it is almost close. But the catch is it works quite well on top ranking albums. Because often certain album is low ranking because people do not recognize them. That means unless you know the artist exists you will never reach the right section of the Amazon music homepage right? Even those drawbacks Amazon is doing quite well even for low ranking albums. Because there are multiple layers of markets in U.S. It is like Minor League and Major League. Serving ranking for even Minor League markets is quite a boon for indy labels who can set practical goals. And if certain albums become hit it might have a chance for Major League. Because of Amazon. com ranking the way how American market works become clear to us.

Regards

Susumu

'So Many Tears Ago' is going to be next to impossible for him to match. I have alot of memories tied to his first CD so in a way that's what makes it so special. ~~ I think if you put them on back to back the first one just stands out as a much stronger CD, Vinny Burns might have something to do with that also.
