Sorry for the trivia. According to the dictionary I own, theories abound. The most laughing one is it derived from the name of Japanese ceramic company which produces toilet stools. What I heard from the FM station I often listen to is it came from TOTAL which means "everything" .In English pronunciation it sounds like TOTO! LOL! Someone who can give us new theories or definite answer, please let us know. From Toto "Tambu" you should have a listen to "I Will Remember","The Turning Point", and possibly "The Road Goes On" (these are MY favs anyway)

From Toto "Mindfields", have a listen to "Cruel","No Love" and "Melanie" (there are video clips available on the Livefields CD for Cruel and Melanie)

There was also "Toto XX" released in 1998 which was an unreleased & rareties CD, with tracks from almost all Toto eras... have a listen to "Tale Of A Man" and "Miss Sun"

If you want to try chancing a listen, go to my Toto radio station on my Planet Toto website... (click on the News section) - it's playing 24/7 Toto tracks (ALL OF THEM!!! - every Toto CD!!)
