TONY FRANKLIN WRAPS UP WORK ON NEW STUDIO ALBUM: I got an e-mail from Tony Franklin, updating me on the progress of his new album. Tony says the album is now completed. He says: "It's a heavy, groovy, melodic outing. I'm very excited about it. I've been working a vocalist called Scott Kail...he's a very special talent and we have a great chemistry. There's a few 'special' guests, but I need to hold back on announcing them for right now. This is not like the music I've played in the past. It's more of a groove thing, song-oriented, but it's still heavy. The choice of notes is more important than the amount of notes!" Stay tuned for further updates.

| John Farham |
|
Good news! It appears the new John Farnham single is a cover of the Rolling Stones' Last Time - which will be the name of the tour being announced soon. The tour is being touted as John's farewell national tour and is set to run 7 months. First reports suggest his new studio album is a return to the smooth AOR of Romeo's Heart. The Stones tune is also apparently the only cover included in the track listing.

| Tim Feehan |

ESSENTIAL RE-ISSUES FROM CULT AOR FIGURE TIM FEEHAN: One of AOR's cult figures was the brilliant singer/songwriter Tim Feehan. His name pops up from time to time on there where are they now lists. For those that are not aware, Tim most recently co-wrote, produced, mixed and played on the rock comeback album for 80's pop princess Tiffany. For the record, that album - The Color Of Silence - is a fine slice of mature melodic pop rock. But Tim's previous occupation was solo artist and his last two albums were great examples of pure AOR/Westcoast at it's best. For a sample, check this months Playoff, in the Soundbytes page. Previous to that, Tim actually had two other solo albums, neither of which I have personally heard. But Georg @ AOR Heaven has unearthed news that both those albums; Carmelita and Sneak Preview will be officially re-released in Japan January 10th. Great news for classic AOR fans and you can expect both re-issues to be featured here in the new year.
