News - Mark Ashton is doing an interview tonight on Pandora`s Armaggedon Rock show on Total Rock Radio.
The show starts at midnight (GMT) Saturday night and Mark be on in the first hour talking about The Gods show and a bit about the label. In the UK anyone with a Sky Digital Dish can pick up Total Rock on Digital Satellite Channel 885.
Anyone not on Sky Digital or overseas can listen in live on their computer at: www.totalrock.com

PLUS!! Exclusive!! DVD/Filming details!

The show will be recorded using Tascam 88 machines. This will give 48 track digital recording of the audio element of the performances.
The video will be shot on Beta SP using a 5 camera team. The breakdown of the cameras will be -
Camera 1 - long shot taking in the lights and full width of the stage.
Camera 2 - close up of the singer.
Camera 3 - close up of the lead guitarist.
Camera 4 - roaming brief taking in rhythm guitarist / bassist with freedom to cut across to singer / guitarist for alternative angle.
Camera 5 - roaming brief taking in drummer, keyboard player and crowd shots.

The footage will be shot in widescreen and the current plan is to release the DVD`s as Region 0 NTSC as this seems to be the most compatible format. (This Code means it is region free / worldwide playable)
In total there are 20 people involved in the audio / video recording production of The Gods 2002.

It is our intention to make this as high quality as possible within the obvious financial constraints of it being an independent label funded production.

Now & Then will also have one or two of our own staff roaming around all weekend with digital camcorders recording some material which we hope to use as bonus footage.
There are plans to film some of the saturday night preGods party in Pennington`s 2, candid shots of bands arriving / leaving / hanging around and also to interview some of the fans that have made the trip to the show.

Anyone on the guest list will be asked to make a donation to the charity and there will also be a raffle held on the day, which everyone attending The Gods is able to enter. Tickets are 50p each or 5 for £2. All money goes to the Radcliffe on Trent RSPCA Shelter which houses up to 320 animals at any one time, whilst trying to find them new homes.
Shelter spokeswoman, Jo Hoaksey has this to say, "Dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, hamsters, chickens, you name it, we have it!!!. Many are abandoned or cruelty cases and some are just unwanted pets. It costs us approx £1000 per day to run the shelter and we receive no funding from either RSPCA national headquarters or the government as we are a Trust run home."
Prizes include tickets to the next Gods festival, the chance to appear in the compilation DVD of The Gods 2002 as you receive your prize on stage, a copy of the said DVD upon release, a Gods 2002 t-shirt, signed Gilby Clarke and Alice Cooper goodies, a selection of CD's, a bottle of champagne and a one year UK subscription to Powerplay.

New band profile up for Eric Martin Band.

Speaking of which, Eric Martin will now play a full electric set! Eric's going to bring his whole band over for the Gods, set to play the UK for the first time ever as a solo artist!

The Gods 2002 pre-show party on Saturday June 1st at Penningtons will feature live sets from Shotgun Symphony and Deadline.
Shotgun Symphony will play half a dozen songs as a warm-up for their Sunday set and might just throw in a couple of "different" tracks to their Sunday set if we're lucky.
Deadline will have a limited number of their new demo CD to give away. Music will be provided by the UK`s top melodic rock DJ, Stevie E with a guest appearance or two during the night.

Here is the official statement from Mecca frontman Joe Vana.
"It is with great distress that I have to announce Mecca can't be in full force at the Gods in June. However, we are going to be at the November Gods....or whichever month they choose for the next Gods. Mecca is VERY much looking forward to this show....and we will be in full force and we have a VERY special guitarist who will also be the guitarist for the next Mecca album as well. Thom and I are trying to get there anyway to mingle with the people over there....and to see some great bands play too!! Look out in November...Mecca is on our way!!!".....Joe Vana.

Mecca have withdrawn from the Gods June 2002 line up.
It is with much regret that they do so, but drummer Shannon Forrest has to be in Nashville to do a session for Garth Brooks. Singer Joe Vana did not want to compromise the band's dynamics with a replacement drummer.
There is still a chance that Joe Vana and Thom Griffin will fly in for an Acoustic Set at the Pre-Show party, Saturday June 1. Confirmation this week.

But, fabulous news, with Eric Martin now scheduled to fly in and perform an solo acoustic set! Details this week.

In addition - Bailey's Comet have been added to the line-up, featuring vocalist Tony Martin.
Tony and the Bailey's have been tour the UK this and last month and have been including in their sets monster versions of Black Sabbath's Headless Cross and Blue Murder's Valley Of The Kings!
