Steve Grimmett Bio

This is the New project put together by Steve Grimmett. Born in the UK, Steve has a history that is nothing short of incredible, having what is widely regarded as one of the most powerful and original voices in Rock & Metal. As the vocalist with the legendary NWOBHM outfit Grim Reaper, Steve accomplished major success during the 80’s with three highly acclaimed studio albums “See you in Hell”, “Fear No Evil” and “Rock you to Hell” along with single releases, MTV airplay, & extensive touring in the USA. Grim Reaper videos can often still be seen on some of the major music channels. Although very successful in the USA, Europe and particularly the UK eluded the band and although they gathered a very dedicated following the mass appeal was never to come. Although critically acclaimed Grim Reaper reached its end and the band members all moved onto other projects.

After Grim Reaper Steve spent a brief period with Onslaught and again enjoyed commercial success, including a single that charted in the UK. More recently Steve's success came in the form of Lionsheart, a powerful melodic metal band whose debut album reached number one in the mainstream Japanese chart.

In early 2006 Steve assembled a touring band with the intention of playing a full Grim Reaper set at a series of European metal festivals & venues. The band members that Steve recruited were guitarist Ian Nash who had previously worked with Steve in Lionsheart & bassist Rich Walker who had played with Ian in Seven Deadly Sins. Drummer Pete Newdeck, who has played with Paul Dianno’s Killers, completed the band line-up.

Steve & the boys’ live performances were incredibly well received that year & they had an awesome time rocking out across Europe together, so much so, that they began to consider how this project could progress & grow. It was during this period that the idea of forming a brand new band was conceived, a band that would combine all of the best elements of Grim Reaper & Lionsheart with a modern metal edge, utilising Ian’s melodic yet shredding guitar, Pete & Rich’s heart pounding rhythm section & of course Steve’s awesome vocal power. On their return to the UK the boys began writing & recording demos for a brand new album.

The songs for the new album were completed in early 2007. Pink Cream 69’s bassist & melodicrock.com ‘Producer of the year 2005’ Dennis Ward was secured to handle mixing & mastering duties. Pete Newdeck would take care of production & in February 2007 Steve & Pete travelled to Germany to lay down the vocals. The album, now available entitled ‘Personal Crisis’ also features appearances by Eric Ragno (Jeff Scott Soto) on keys & Carsten Lizard Schulz (Evidence One) singing backing vocals.

This is where it has all come together & will remain for Steve; this is the next chapter and one which will add many stories to an already unbelievable adventure through the pages of Hard rock music.

SEE YOU IN HELL!!!
