Artist Bio
Redline was born out of the desire of three like minded musicians to write & record an album of unpretentious, exciting, riff laden, hard rock. AD, Mark Biddiscombe & Martin Orum had previously worked together and sought the help of Paul Bridgewater who had collaborated on projects with them in the past. Paul's involvement was short term due to his other musical commitments and the position was permanently filled by Liam Doherty. Immediately after Liam joined song writing commenced to put together ten tracks of classic rock that would form the album "Ignition".
The subject matter of the material on Ignition is varied, although the theme of babes, motorcycles and booze is inevitable given Redline's biking background!
The song writing draws heavily from this culture. Hanging out at Daytona Bike week provided the inspiration for three of the tracks on the album: Some Kinda Mean, Heaven's Gate and Straight Between The Eyes. King of the Mountain and No Limits are inspired by numerous visits to the awesome Isle of Man TT races. Twistin' The Knife, relates to the events occurring over a dark and dangerous week spent down in New Orleans. High Price to Pay warns about being fatally attracted to babes and bikes, whilst Coast to Coast and Ride tell of the desire to escape, to ride away from a mundane existence. The power ballad, Cold Silence is the most retrospective track on the album.
Recording was done at Madhat Studios in Wolverhampton, engineered by Mark Stuart who was behind the helm on Magnum's Princess Alice & The Broken Arrow album. Final mix & mastering was conducted by the talented Sheena Seer. Sheena is currently working with the band on recording some new material.
Following the album's release on Redline's own Antarctic Records label, various festivals were secured to introduce the public to Redline's particular brand of rock, these included appearances at The Motorcycle News/Kerrang Event at Skegness, The Hard Rock Hell Winter Ball & The Ink & Iron Custom Show at the Carling Academy.
The band say that one of the best things about some of the festivals that they have played at, has been the privilege to see and hang out with some real legends; Saxon, Tesla, Twisted Sister, UFO, Girlschool & Vixen to mention just a few.
Liam said, "It must go down as one of the most pleasant experiences we've had, arriving for breakfast to see Vixen & Girlschool sitting just across the way on opposite tables!
The current Redline agenda is writing, rehearsing and demo-ing material for a new album, tentatively entitled "Relentless Authority" and getting out and introducing the band to an even bigger audience. Confirmed dates for 2008 include:
The Annual Ink & Iron Custom Bike & Tattoo Show, NEC, Birmingham, 13th April
The British Steel Festival, The Underworld, Camden, London, 26th April
Z Rock 2008, The Asylum, Birmingham, May 17th
Hard Drive Festival, Coalville UK, 19th July.

The band are very enthusiastic about the coming year & what it holds for Redline. Notably getting into the studio to start recording new tracks; the music has taken a slightly heavier twist this time round, but it still is 100% Redline! There have recently been approaches by a couple of major labels that have expressed an interest in working with the band on 'Relentless Authority'; details will be available soon. The support and backing of a major label is welcomed, as it will provide a level of production & promotion that the band feels they are unable to attain on their own, self financed label. Redline would like to say thanks to all the fans for their support, the journalists who have given so much encouragement and the independent record shops in Germany, the U.S.A. and Japan for their help in getting the album out.
