KORITNI

After the success encountered with his previous band, $ Green Dollar Colour $, based on a strong duality, Lex Koritni decided to go on with four real musicians, named simply “Koritni”, a new band is born.

They came back from their European tour (they even opened for the legendary Scorpions) in the spring of 2006, and walked right into the studios to record “Lady Luck”. Luke Cuerden (guitars), D Matt Hunter (bass), Chris Brown (drums) and the French Eddy Santacreu (guitars) were fast to adjust to Lex’s particular voice and they composed and arranged together 11 new songs between June and September.

They also took advantage of a concert they gave in Sydney to try out their new songs on the audience. In October, the band recorded the album at Sydney’s Studios 301 and Pulse Studio, before flying off to Canada to work on the mix with Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe...) at the Warehouse Studio, where AC/DC recorded their last album “Stiff Upper Lip”. The mastering was done in New York at Sterling Sound by George Marino himself (Guns N’Roses, Metallica, Velvet Revolver, AC/DC…).

The new songs are even more efficient than the previous ones, which shows how well the 5 guys work together. Some will hear Jimmy Barnes (who was actually Lex’s mentor when he started), AC/DC or Aerosmith… But those compositions remain very personal, and the powerful production gives the band its identity and very own sound. The band will also take you by surprise with a cover of the Beatles’ “Got to get you into my life” which is full of energy! Though Koritni remains a young and spontaneous band, they prove with “Lady Luck” that they also strive for professionalism and perfection. For Koritni, it’s one step further on the path of their famous elders, but it’s quite a jump forward for the Rock’n’Roll!
