Music that moves you …
2008 “Female Singer/Songwriter” nominee for the 18th Annual L.A. Music Awards …Dazz is an edgy rocker from San Jose, CA; she creates emotionally charged music containing a magical way of capturing your emotional side & stimulating your soul … music that moves you…
Dazz writes, performs & produces catchy tales of survival dealing with modern day issues; she delivers a unique way of taking you on a magical modern day roller-coaster adventure that dips you into a physical and emotional reality check!
Dazz, herself, is a survivor and although a very private person, her music speaks volumes of her experiences and the experiences of those around her.
A great example of this is in the song “C U Again” (aka “Dazzeppelin”) where she tells the tale from the prospect of a mother who has recently lost her child to a tragic, unexpected and horrid death. Behind the music is a tale not many might have had happen to them, but it also causes those of us to be thankful of our blessings and to obtain a greater empathy for those who suffer from loss.
Another example is in the song “Bad Girl”, where she sings about the unrequited lust that many of us feel about others who, in their own persuasive ways, attract us to them but we dare not “cross the line” as it would be inappropriate from both a social and personal standpoint. She says it all at the end of the song: “'Cause I like it so”. And who doesn't enjoy a bit of flirty fun now and again?
“Euthanasia”, Dazz's melodic, mellow rock ballad is truly an original concept song, Dazz relives the final moments – specifically the last 10 days – of her father's life here on Earth. Anyone who's ever heard this song cannot help but feel the deeply profuse pain Dazz conveys as she delivers the lyrics and melodic story line authentically. The “Euthanasia” music video will be available at www.sonicbids.com/DAZZ in mid June 2008.
Dazz's musical influences include but are not limited to Led Zeppelin, Heart, Journey, Van Halen, Boston, Lita Ford, Y & T, Pat Benatar, Fleetwood Mac, etc. The essence of them is Classic Rock.
She started off, literally, singing on the back of her mother's sofa whereby she was preparing for an audition at a local music theatre venue. On the same day, she listed to Led Zeppelin's Third album (specifically the song Kashmir) and she was hooked on a steady diet of Classic Rock music from there on. Needless to say, it was the musical theatre venue's loss.
Dazz started life as a rock singer in the Summit Road Band, a local Los Gatos, California band with her sister. She started out by singing behind the speakers as she was painfully stage-shy; however, with a little coercion by said sister she came out in front and thus started her passion for entertainment. She wrote her first original songs with her sister and fellow band mates.
She took off with the lead guitarist of the SRB and started the band Rare Breed. This was a completely all-original and she co-wrote the words and music on the songs. This band opened up for larger acts like Pat Travers, Robin Trower, Little River Band, Blue Oyster Cult, Grateful Dead, Y & T to name a few.
After Rare Breed's run, Dazz launched her own solo career playing her original, melodic music to audiences at private venue settings. She was and has remained available for this sort of engagement by request through her website. Dazz publishes her monthly newsletter to keep fans informed and get the latest updates on what she is up to and now makes this available through her website, there is an option to join for the e-mailing list and the link is www.dazzproductions.com/contact.html
Dazz has a passion for the homeless and destitute, especially the children. On her debut album “Letters Never Sent”, the song “Shoes” reflects this very moving and stark reality. There is a video at the www.sonicbids.com/DAZZ website for this song, as well. The people in the video represent the homeless in California. It pains her that there are people all over the world who are living in such conditions, or rather as Dazz states: surviving. The questions she asks in this song are brutally realistic: What's to be done? Could we make it one day if we walked in their shoes? It's a tragedy we have all been touched by from time to time.
