STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN Grammy Award-Winning Album 'In Step' 25 Years Later

Stevie Ray Vaughan And Double Trouble's Road To Redemption: Grammy Award-Winning Album In Step  25 Years Later

Dallas, TX - April 19, 2014.  North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands celebrates the life of Stevie Ray Vaughan 25 years after the release of the Grammy Award winning album In Step, the 4th and final studio album from Stevie and band mates Double Trouble.

If you run the numbers of the Summer of 1989 album In Step by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, just the mere facts are impressive. In Step was the Texas trio's fourth studio album, but their first after Vaughan's collapse and near death from substance abuse while on tour in Germany had forced both Stevie and Double Trouble bass player Tommy Shannon into rehab. In Step won a Grammy Award, one of six Vaughan amassed, while racking up the best sales of Vaughan's lauded career.

Yet the significance of In Step as a musical statement of intent cannot be told by mere sales or awards. It can only be assessed by the friends who knew Stevie Ray Vaughan, the musicians who inspired him first, the players who supported him, and those he ultimately inspired. Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, Chris Layton, Tommy Shannon, the late Doyle Bramhall and biographer Joe Nick Patoski all join us InTheStudio. Blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa shares his thoughts with InTheStudio host Redbeard.

'Stevie's legacy is he was the guy who could put on a guitar, any guitar, play three notes and have people hooked... That you can't teach.'

Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts Share Stories Of Famed Allman Brothers Band 1971 Fillmore East Performances

Dallas, TX July 29, 2014-  North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands  gets a front row seat to one of Rock's legendary concert stands, The Allman Brothers Band 1971 live at the Fillmore East shows.

By 1971 the Allman Brothers Band were on a roll with their second album, Idlewild South, breaching the Top 40 sales plateau for the first time, and bandleader Duane Allman had by then recorded the now legendary Layla album with Eric Clapton as Derek and the Dominos, resulting in Duane's quick ascension to a premiere slide guitar player.

In March of that year the Allmans would perform four shows over two nights at New York's Fillmore East, as well as the venue's closing night in late June. All of these shows were recorded and select tracks were released as the band's third album in July 1971, becoming the Allman Brothers Band's first Top 10 album.

Singer, songwriter and organist Gregg Allman and former Allman Brothers guitarist Dickey Betts sat down with InTheStudio program host Redbeard to recall the magic of those original band shows on the release of The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings. Gregg Allman shares with host Redbeard the mindset that permeated the band's live performances and created some of the most legendary extended musical jams ever recorded.

'There were no boundaries back then in the early '70s. There was no, 'We better shut this tune off at a certain time'. It was never even thought of.'

The Allman Bros./ InTheStudio interview program is available now to STREAM at: www.inthestudio.net/redbeards-blog/allman-brothers-band-1971-fillmore-east-recordings-gregg-allman-dickey-betts

On A Low Budget Ray Davies Guests InTheStudio For Kinks Bestseller's 35th Anniversary

Dallas, TX - July 22, 2014. North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio:The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands  spares no expense celebrating the 35th anniversary of The Kinks' 1979 album Low Budget.

Of all the British bands that stormed America's shores in the British Invasion of the 1960s, none has had a more checkered career than The Kinks. The Kinks weren't as cute as the Beatles or as nasty as the Stones but an odd mix of campiness and raw power, as likely to kiss each other on the lips as they were to have full blown punch outs right there on the stage.

The middle 1970s were tough going for The Kinks until they reclaimed their rock bona fides with a trifecta of revitalized rock, first on 1977's Sleepwalker, then 1978's Misfits, and their biggest seller ever, Low Budget  in 1979.

Kinks' leader Ray Davies shares with InTheStudio host Redbeard what the late seventies rebirth meant for the band.

'In America coming from nowhere again, it was like having a second opportunity to do it, because we really didn't do it the first time. You know the first time around when we came to America, the band nearly broke up. So we really didn't go all the way. (On the Low Budget tour) It was fun and it was great to see the audience love the work."

ALICE COOPER All-American Boy Exposed InTheStudio

Alice Cooper, All-American Boy Exposed InTheStudio

Dallas, TX - July 15, 2014.  North American syndicated Rock radio show and website InTheStudio with Redbeard: The Stories Behind History's Greatest Rock Bands presents a tutorial on why little boys shouldn't play with meat cleavers, nooses, high voltage, snakes, and Mommy's make-up and fishnet stockings'unless you plan on going into show business as the King of Shock Rock, Alice Cooper!

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Alice Cooper is on the road and on the big screen this summer, touring with his rock progeny Motley Crue (just one of the hundreds which Cooper inspired), and featured in a new documentary film/dvd titled Super Duper Alice Cooper, so the time seems right for Alice's brand of wrong for InTheStudio.

The band Alice Cooper made notorious headlines but few fans when they first appeared on the radio in 1971 with Love It to Death. Alice's stage act then was confrontational, even horrifying, and without the campy humor that would inform the act just two years later on Billion Dollar Babies

But what made Alice Cooper a household name was the savvy string of hits, indelibly changing the rock concert world while revolutionizing American Top 40 radio at the same time with 'I'm Eighteen', 'Under My Wheels', 'Be My Lover', 'School's Out', 'Elected', 'No More Mister Nice Guy', 'Welcome to My Nightmare' and 'Only Women Bleed' from five Top 10-selling albums.

The career ride for Alice Cooper careened from the whole band sleeping in one motel room to the covers of Time and Newsweek magazines; from fairways to national airwaves; from rehab to Rock Hall in 2011.  Alice reflects with InTheStudio host Redbeard on why Alice Cooper connected then, and lives on today.

' I think it was because we were such a shock to the nation, image-wise. We were the band that drove the stake through the heart of the Love Generation. Everything that the hippies didn't believe in. For the first time in a long time music was not political, it was fun! Alice Cooper was like the biggest juvenile delinquent Rock and Roll horror show of all time. But not only the image was there, the most important thing in our mind was the fact that the music has to stand up years from now. It has to stand up even after they forgot what we did on stage.'
