Metal Down Under Released in Europe and UK November 10

Metal Down Under released in Europe and the UK

After launching in Australia in August and firmly lodging itself in the ARIA Music DVD Charts, Metal Down Under is being unleashed in the UK and Europe through Plastic Head Distribution on November 10th.

Since the late 1970's a thriving underground scene of extreme music has continued to evolve in Australia. Over three epic episodes, Metal Down Under takes a look at the bands, people and events that have shaped this unique slice of Australian history. Featuring over 40 exclusive interviews as well as rare archive footage and photographs from Metal for the Brain, Metal for Melbourne, The Big Day Out, SBS, music videos, live concerts and much more.

'Metal Down Under is a vital and historic piece of film-making. A vibrant document of a thriving underbelly of Australian music that both audiences and the industry often choose to ignore.' Brian Giffin ' Loud Online

Director Nick Calpakdjian spent 2 years travelling Australia interviewing the people, bands, promoters, store owners and fans on the way to compiling the country's most comprehensive look at heavy music. Funded primarily through crowd funding and a fan-based membership drive, the film has been received enthusiastically by fans and bands in Australia. It has also been met with critical success receiving 4-star reviews in Rolling Stone and Blunt Magazines as well as favorable reviews in Heavy Mag, Stack Magazine, Loud Online and a host of online zines, community radio networks and podcasts. It has lodged itself in the best sellers list of iconic record store Utopia Records and JB HiFi stores Australia wide.

'When you look back on the Australian metal scene, and the international scene, the bands that have made the biggest impact are the ones that had a bit of courage to do their own thing.' Tim Charles - Ne Obliviscaris

Help Kickstart The New MICHAEL RIESENBECK Album

Hi folks, one of the good guys in this business is the independent artist Michael Riesenbeck. His new album is well underway, but he has a Kickstarter campaign going that has just a couple of days left to run with not much needed to fully fund the release of his new album.
Please check out the details and support if you can!
From Michael: "This project was started to raise funds to release my new album "II" on physical CD. The album is ready for release, all is recorded, mixed and mastered. The art work is done, the booklet design is ready. So the only thing missing are funds to be able to press physical cd's with a really cool booklet (lyrics, unique pictures, background information, etc).
If you want to support the project, but don't have a credit card (which is the only payment method supported by Kickstarter, unfortunately), you can use PayPal: or IBAN: NL88 ABNA 0495 0593 31 Att. M. Riesenbeck) and I'll make sure Kickstarter receives the funds.
Guest performances by: Tony Mills (TNT, Shy), Eric Ragno (China Blue, Graham Bonnet), Phil Vincent, Danny Danzi , Rev Jones (Michael Schenker Group, Mountain), Franky Dee, John Taglieri, Timo Pudas (Urban Tale), Rob Boshuijzen (ICE), Rick Rici, Raymond van Melzen, Johan Volman, Sietze Postma, Vividly Frank, Serge Naberman (Rebelstar), Ollie Oldenburg, Bryan Woolley (The Machine), Frederic Dechavanne (Paris), Frederik Bergh (Street Talk), Michael Peet (Joe Bonamassa, Powerplay), Theo Fokkema, Marco van der Aar (Soylent Green), Arjen van der Ree, Rob Smeink, Jim Rykbost (Cold Heart) and Francisco J. Rodriguez (NeXX).
The style of the album can be described as a blend of melodic rock, hardrock, progressive rock, symphonic rock, bluesrock, metal and AOR. It has become a very diverse album because of all these influences. But, overall this is Melodic Rock!
The album features 12 songs with catchy hooks, multi-layered vocals, guitars and keyboards, memorable choruses, played and sung by some of the best musicians around, with a top notch mix and sound quality. Thanks you for supporting the music and enabling me to keep releasing music!"

Later this week the band plays Chicago's Melodic Rock Fest and more shows are being planned for UK, Italy, Sweden etc.

RATED X - Rated X (Pre-View)

Rated X Exclusive Preview:
Joe Lynn Turner is in devastating form, ripping through 12 energised classic rock tracks drenched in organ and driven by some tough riffing from Karl Cochran.
Drummer Carmine Appice and bassist Tony Franklin reunite for the first time since Blue Murder, delivering the precise ear drum shattering rhythm section expected of both journeymen.
Song wise, what is delivered is exactly what was expected and hoped for.
A mix of Mother's Army, Blue Murder and Joe Lynn Turner's rocking solo best.
The opening track Get Back My Crown is a high energy blast, Lhasa is epic classic rock, the melodic hard rocker I Don't Cry Anymore sees Carmine in crashing form and the heavy ballad Fire And Ice is prime time JLT.
Our Love Is Not Over is another great pure melodic rock track.
Looking forward to reviewing this in full detail and enjoying playing it on high rotation for some time to come.
First impressions are very favourable indeed.
All Star Hard Rock Line Up Includes
Vocalist Joe Lynn Turner; Drummer Carmine Appice;
Bassist Tony Franklin and Guitarist Karl Cochran.
Frontiers Music Srl, the Italian-based label known for embracing new music from legendary Rock artists, returns with another impactful project: RATED X.  Set for release in the EU on November 7th and in North America on November 11th, the album features all new songs built upon a classic Hard Rock foundation, with a distinctly contemporary edge.
RATED X was formed at the suggestion of Frontiers President Serafino Perugino, who mentioned to singer Joe Lynn Turner that a band of highest caliber musicians should be assembled to create an album of classic Hard Rock music.  Turner, the former lead vocalist for both Rainbow and Deep Purple and a solo artist in his own right, agreed, and the search for the right players was on. Carmine Appice, who already had a relationship with Frontiers, was on board immediately.  A true percussion icon, Appice’s resume is one that Rock legends are made of: Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Ozzy Osbourne, Rod Stewart, Blue Murder, King Kobra and others.
Appice’s former Blue Murder bandmate and bassist, Tony Franklin (best known for his work with The Firm, Jimmy Page, Paul Rodgers, David Gilmour, Kate Bush, and Whitesnake), signed up next. After a lengthy search for the right guitarist, they settled on long-time Turner collaborator Karl Cochran, who has also worked with Ace Frehley, and worked in the past with Joe Lynn Turner on his solo albums.
“I believe we wanted to keep it a bit retro with a modern edge,” says Turner. “The songs are classic rock, but then that's an understatement. They are what they are; and they transformed as we went along recording. So, all in all, we are very happy to finish the record and finally able to get it out to the public. Everyone in this band is a true individual and stylist. When you put it all together, you have Rated X.”
The debut album, simply titled, Rated X, is remarkable in that it sounds like a band that has worked together as a unit for years. The songs are powerful and the performances are tight and innovative.  Frontiers in-house producer, Alessandro del Vecchio, not only handled studio production but added keyboards on several tracks. Pat Regan (Mr Big, Deep Purple, Gotthard, Kiss, Doro) mixed the album.
Says Carmine Appice: “With his help in coming up with the song ideas and working together with the band I believe we came up with the sound from the late 70s -80s. To me, it sounds like Blue Murder with Joe Lynn Turner singing. Having Tony and myself as the rhythm section and with the heavy guitars, it gives the record a Blue Murder-vibe. Then, adding Alessandro on keys gave us a bit of the Deep Purple thing. It all works together and I loved playing each song.”

WHITESNAKE’s 'Live In '84 - Back To The Bone' New DVD/CD Out via Frontiers

New DVD/CD With Classic And Rare
Performances Available For The First Time
WHITESNAKE fans worldwide now have something to be excited about! To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of WHITESNAKE’s multi-platinum ‘Slide It In’ album, Frontiers Music Srl, the Italian-based label, will release “Live In ‘84 - Back To The Bone”, a complete celebration of the group’s awe inspiring lineup during what many feel was the incredible beginning of what Coverdale called his desire to make WHITESNAKE more ‘electrifying’ on record & on stage.
Set for release in the EU on November 7th and in North America on November 11th, this release will be available in DVD and a Deluxe CD/DVD edition.
Culled from audio and video recordings & unheard demos from the private collection of WHITESNAKE leader and vocalist, David Coverdale, the release offers an ultra-rare collection of material, performed by the band’s acclaimed 83-84 line-ups. Featured on the record & driven by the awesome Cozy Powell on drums (ex- Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, MSG and later on Gary Moore and Black Sabbath, among others); unique guitarist John Sykes, whom Coverdale credits with inspiring a whole generation of six stringers after his breathtaking work on the WHITESNAKE ’87’ album & Bassist Exceptionale Neil Murray.
There is also an extraordinary emotional bonus content featuring legendary keyboardist Jon Lord performing his last show ever with WHITESNAKE on video & also the bonus CD.
“It’s still hard for me to find the words when remembering that half the incredible band who originally recorded the ‘Slide It In’ album with me have passed away,” says Coverdale. “It’s incredibly difficult to articulate: Cozy Powell...Mel Galley...Jon Lord…All amazing people and amazing musicians. Their memories live on in our hearts & in the music they made. I miss them beyond words… Wait until you see & hear them playing as only they can and add in the fiery guitar assault of the incredibly gifted John Sykes, plus the relentless melodic bass pounding of Neil Murray.”
Coverdale and co-producer Michael McIntyre launched a worldwide search for the best quality video footage and audio tracks from the 1984 tour. Among the gems found was a set from: ‘Super-Rock’, recorded at the first Japanese rock festival at Seibu Stadium in Tokyo and an invaluable video of Jon Lord’s final appearance with WHITESNAKE recorded live in Sweden. “All of the features on this package have been treated lovingly & respectfully, with no expense spared, utilizing technology to improve sound & picture quality,” says Coverdale, who personally oversaw all elements of this release.
Concludes Coverdale, “These are memories I treasure and delight in sharing with you as we continue our celebration of the 30th Anniversary of WHITESNAKE’s ‘Slide It In.”

'Rock Or Bust' For AC/DC This November

Legendary Anglo-Australian hard rockers AC/DC will release their first new album in six years, an 11-track collection named "Rock Or Bust", in Australia on November 28 and in North America on December 2.
Starting September 27, Turner Sports will provide fans a sneak peek of the new song "Play Ball" as part of the 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason campaign. The content will run for several weeks across TBS, the exclusive home to this year's American League Postseason coverage, as well as leading media brands within the Turner portfolio.

AC/DC has also revealed that founding guitarist Malcolm Young will not be returning to the group due to ill health. "Unfortunately due to the nature of Malcolm's illness, he will not be rejoining the band," reads a statement issued by the AC/DC's a label Alberts and Sony Music Australia.

AC/DC has confirmed it will embark on a world tour in to promote "Rock Or Bust" and celebrate the band's 40th anniversary, with Angus and Malcolm Young's nephew Stevie stepping in for Malcolm on rhythm guitar. Stevie played on the new CD, which was recorded at the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with producer Brendan O’Brien and mixer Mike Fraser.

While promoting his debut solo album last month, AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd dismissed reports that AC/DC had considered calling it quits after Malcolm's illness was made public.
"Angus Young will never retire," Rudd said. "We were never going to retire. It'll never happen. Angus will never retire and as long as Angus never retires, I won't fucking retire either."
According to Rudd, tour plans had not yet been finalized, but he expected to return to the road shortly. "I'll get a call a month before they need me," he said.

"We've done some long, hard tours. It's not easy. You do it for 18 months, you're the walking dead when you finish, especially as you get older. But everything's great in the band, we're ready to fire up on all cylinders again."
Although some music news sites erroneously quoted Rudd as saying that the album was recorded in 10 days, he actually said that he was done with his drum parts in that time, adding, "I've never played better."
AC/DC biographer Jesse Fink stated earlier this year that it was likely Malcolm's absence would become permanent. He said: "The important thing is we all let Mal be and hope he can recover. We should all expect that Stevie is in the band now." Regarding the new material, he said: "I'm hearing on very reliable authority it's up there with 'Black Ice', or even better — so Stevie must be a good replacement for Mal."

Stevie Young played with AC/DC once before during a 1988 tour, while Malcolm stepped out to deal with his dependency on alcohol.

Legend has it that Stevie resembled his uncle closely enough that many fans reportedly didn’t even know Malcolm had left the tour.

"We miss Malcolm, obviously," AC/DC singer Brian Johnson told TeamRock Radio this past July. "He's a fighter. He's in hospital, but he's a fighter. We've got our fingers crossed that he'll get strong again.
"Stevie, Malcolm's nephew, was magnificent, but when you're recording with this thing hanging over you and your work mate isn't well, it's difficult. But I'm sure he was rooting for us. He's such a strong man. He's a small guy, but he's very strong. He's proud and he's very private, so we can't say too much."
The first AC/DC album in the band's 41 year history without Malcolm Young on the recordings, "Rock Or Bust" follows the immensely successful "Black Ice", which debuted at No. 1 in 31 countries upon release in 2008, and has gone on to sell nearly 8 million copies worldwide.

JEFF HEALEY BAND Live At The Horseshoe Tavern

~OCTOBER 7, 2014~

New York, NY (September 22, 2014)- On October 7, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release Live At The Horseshoe Tavern from the Jeff Healey Band on CD and Digital Audio [MSRP $13.98]
In December 1993, The Jeff Healey Band was completing their tour in support of the recently released Feel This album, which culminated in several nights at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern, in their hometown of Toronto. Embellished by two backup singers and keyboard player Washington Savage, The Jeff Healey Band delivered a homecoming barnburner, blazing with favorites like 'See The Light,' 'Roadhouse Blues,' and 'Baby's Lookin' Hot.' Nestled in-between the high-energy set list was a 3-song acoustic set, including 'That's What They Say,' 'You're Coming Home,' and 'Angel Eyes,' as well as stellar set-closing covers of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' and 'The Thrill Is Gone.' It was a well-rounded set, made all the more special by performing in their hometown.
Live At The Horseshoe Tavern is one of several classic Jeff Healey Band concerts that Eagle Rock has unveiled from the vaults, including Live From NYC (2013), Live At Grossman's (2011), Full Circle ' The Live Anthology (2011), and Live At Montreux (2005). The band was helmed by guitarist/vocalist Jeff Healey, who lost his sight at infancy. However, one can say that made his sense of sound that much stronger: a masterful musician with a unique style, he championed the lap pedal-steel style of blues guitar. His soulful vocals, instrumental dexterity, and ability to traverse genre styles won over blues and blues-rock fans the world over, until his untimely passing in 2008.
Live At The Horseshoe Tavern brilliantly captures the power of the Jeff Healey Band live.
Band Line-up:
Jeff Healey ' guitars & vocals
Joe Rockman ' bass & background vocals
Tom Stephen ' drums
Washington Savage - Keyboards
Mischke & Toucu ' Backing Vocals

The Latest From ROCK CANDY RECORDS Out Now

The following four new Rock Candy titles are all available now from for a discounted price including postage to anywhere in the world for the next two weeks ending on October 6.

THERE IS NO doubt that Mott The Hoople were one of the most influential British rock bands of the 1970s. Having gone from a struggling club band to wider international success, it came as something of a shock when leader Ian Hunter pulled the band apart by quitting in late 1974, taking flamboyant guitarist Mick Ronson with him to peruse a solo career. For the other members of Mott The Hoople this could have spelt disaster but fortunately their resolve and determination overcame all obstacles resolving to carry on with a revised line up.
Enlisting new guitarist Ray Major and unknown vocalist Nigel Benjamin (recommended to the band by Bad Company and former Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs), the band reconvened, still signed to CBS, but under the new handle of Mott. It was this line-up (also featuring former MTH stalwarts Pete 'Overend' Watts, Dale 'Buffin' Griffin and Morgan Fisher) that recorded 'Drive On' one of the year's most surprising and exciting albums.
Although it exploring some of the more grandiose musical themes touched on by latter day MTH, the album is also a hot-bed of hard rocking, allowing the extraordinary vocals of Nigel Benjamin to take centre stage. It's this full-on direction that lent the record a sense of urgency that still impresses to this day ' a fact that hasn't escaped the attention of Def Leppard vocalist Joe Elliott who has, in recent years, persistently championed these songs in concert and on newly recorded versions.
Special Deluxe Collector's Edition, fully remastered sound, contain bonus track, companion essay from Joe Elliott, 16 page full colour booklet, new interviews, 3,000 word essay, enhanced artwork and rare photos.
WHEN IAN HUNTER and Mick Ronson quit Mott The Hoople in late 1974, many thought that the band would become just another fondly remembered and well respected entry in the history of rock. Few would have gambled on the remaining band members rising up, dusting themselves down and getting back in the ring ready to fight another day. Re-tooled under the newly abbreviated moniker of Mott, the band recruited guitarist Ray Major and super talented yet unknown vocalist Nigel Benjamin, releasing 'Drive On', one of the most impressive albums of 1975.
Finding support at all levels, the band reconvened for the follow up album 'Shouting And Pointing', issued in 1976, a far more panoramic record which took the original Mott The Hoople blue-print, using it to their advantage, increasing the energy level and constructing songs that utilized ambitious arrangements. Nigel Benjamin was a real find, a man seemingly without any vocal ceiling who was also a great frontman.
Produced by studio veteran Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin) at the Manor studios in Oxfordshire and mixed by the equally esteemed Bill Price (Sex Pistols, Guns 'N Roses) the material is both challenging and commercially addictive. Songs such as 'Collision Course', 'Storm' and 'Hold On You're Crazy' rock the house but its 'Career (No Such Thing As Rock And Roll)' and the title track that construct a vivid picture of the band's grandiose ambitions.
Special Deluxe Collector's Edition, fully remastered sound, contain bonus track, companion essay from Joe Elliott, 16 page full colour booklet, new interviews, 3,000 word essay, enhanced artwork and rare photos.
THERE IS NO getting away from it, Los Angeles in the late 80s was ground zero for hard rock and heavy metal. The Sunset Strip was home to literally hundreds of up and coming acts, all desperate to place their stake in the ground and climb the ladder to a bigger and better future. One such act was the BulletBoys, a lean and mean rocking machine who's melodic yet raw sensibilities set them apart from the competition by a country mile.
However, although the band's upward trajectory was a veritable rocket powered climb, it hadn't always been that way for the individual members. Guitarist Mick Sweda had been in lauded but poorly performing rockers King Kobra and towards the end that band's existence it also featured bassist Lonnie Vencent and vocalist Marq Torien.  It was these three renegades that jumped ship to form the BulletBoys.
With shrewd management and a desire to impress, the band stayed away from the LA clubs and concentrated on rehearsing and writing songs, a plan that paid handsome dividends when Warner Brothers records, and, in particular, their head of A&R legendary producer Ted Templeman (Van Halen, Montrose), jumped at the chance to sign them. With Ted in the production seat, their self titled debut album, issued in 1988, quickly attained gold certification harboured a string of energy infused tracks that still sound great today.
Special Deluxe Collector's Edition, fully remastered sound, Produced by Ted Templeman (Van Halen, Montrose), 12 page full colour booklet, new interviews, 3,000 word essay, enhanced artwork and rare photos.
New York, New York. So good they named it twice. Well, if that sort of shtick was good enough for ol' Blue eyes then it was certainly good enough for late 80s New York area melodic hard rockers Danger Danger whose songs 'Naughty, Naughty' and 'Bang Bang' helped to emphasise the point perfectly. Not that they needed to accentuate anything but the music, an impressive commodity that took then from the relative obscurity of the New Jersey bars and clubs to European stages and the wide screen appeal of MTV.
Formed in 1986, the band concentrated on forging songs and a sound that would secure them a foothold on the burgeoning melodic hard rock scene. Obscure they may have been but inexperienced they were not. Several of the band had not only paid their dues locally but had played with or backed a number of other artists, including Talas, Joe Lynn Turner, White Lion, Michael Bolton, Saraya and underground pomp rock legends Prophet.
Fashioning memorable songs with firebrand riffs, the band were signed by the Imagine label (a division of Epic Records, headed by Industry legend Lennie Petze) and put into the studio with Lance Quinn (Bon Jovi, Lita Ford). The band's self titled debut album, issued in 1989, instantly produced a hit single with the MTV friendly 'Naughty Naughty', a song that defined the band's appeal as one of the best high-energy melodic rock bands of the era.
Special Deluxe Collector's Edition, fully remastered sound, 5 bonus tracks, Produced by Lance Quinn (Bon Jovi, Lita Ford), 12 page full colour booklet, new interview, 3,000 word essay, enhanced artwork and rare photos.

TEN Introduce Two New Guitarists

British melodic rock giants TEN, who will release their new album 'AlbionNovember 21, have announced two new members. The band has revamped its lineup with the addition of guiarist Dann Rosingana and guitarist Steve Grocott.
For years Gary Hughes has toyed with the idea of bringing even more power and width into the TEN live sound. They are two highly skilled individuals and the aim is to bring twin lead guitar back into play whilst not detracting from the solid and powerful backdrop which is trademark TEN.
Gary commented: "The arrival of Dann and Steve will enable the band to play more of the layers in TEN's studio sound live on stage."

Dann is a very gifted guitar player with a very bluesy edge. Combining speed and melody perfectly in his solo work. He was born Barrow-in-Furness Cumbria, and has been playing guitar since the age of 10. Dann also plays keyboards and sings. His previous Bands include: ShellshockedA2ZHysteria and Yorkshire based club band, Jagged Edge.
Steve is an incredibly versitile guitar player. Combining stunning technical ability with harmony and melody. Creating light and shade in breathtaking abundance with his solo work. Steve hails from Staffordshire and has been playing guitar since the age of 12. His previous bands include AOR band Sevendayz.
ALBION is the first of the 2 new albums to feature lead guitarwork by Dann and Steve.
TEN veteran, the formidable John Halliwell, once again provides the power guitar backdrop and both new additions will share the lead duties and twin together to bring a new dimension to the solo aspect of TEN live sound.
TEN are:
Gary Hughes - Vocals
Dann Rosingana - Guitars
Steve Grocott - Guitars
John Halliwell - Guitars
Steve Mckenna - Bass
Darrel Treece-Birch - Keyboards
Max Yates - Drums
Beginning with their October UK appearance at FirefestTEN will emerge as a new look 7 piece, for the first time featuring the triple guitar attack that will bring a new dimension to the established British Melodic Rock giants.

Neonfly, who comprise Willy Norton on vocals, Frederick Thunder on guitars, Patrick Harrington on guitars, Paul Miller on bass and Boris Le Gal on drums, won hordes of new fans over in the UK when they went down a storm on Magnum's Spring 2014 UK tour. Powerplay reviewed them at Nottingham's Rock City, the night after their van had been broken into and nearly all their gear, (worth about '10K), had been stolen; despite this, they soldiered on, having borrowed, begged or hired replacement kit earlier that day, and completed the tour. 'I can't remember when I last saw a support band enjoying themselves this much. Their jollity was catching too, and by the end of their set, they had won a lot of new friends' (Martin Howell, June 2104 issue). Classic Rock's Adam Aiken reviewed them at Norwich Waterfront in July's issue, noting 'Neonfly's heavy riffs are complemented by the soaring vocals of frontman Willy Norton. With nods to Evanescence and Rush, they grow in confidence throughout the set, and closer 'Morning Star' ' complete with pleasantly catcchy chorus ' provides the highlight, as this exciting five-piece shoow that a new generation is keeping prog alive and well.'
Neonfly released their explosive debut album 'Outshine The Sun', in September 2011 on Rising Records, to critical acclaim. Powerplay's Bruce Turnbull awarded the album 8/10 in the September 2011 issue, stating that 'This is an enjoyable, heartwarming album with a rather a cool, almost traditional edge in the guitar work, mid-paced percussion, and a slew of AOR melodies that keep songs like 'Broken Wings', 'The Enemy' and 'Ship With No Sails' catchy and memorable.'
Classic Rock's Tommy Udo reviewed 'Outshine The Sun' in October 2011's issue, proclaiming 'They're a young band still in thrall to their influences, but If they can write stuff as good as 'Ship With No Sails' and 'Morning Star' now, then when they develop a truer voice of their own they'll be pretty much unstoppable.'
The band then hit the road, first supporting Freedom Call and then Pagan's Mind in 2011, before progressing to major stages at 2012 festivals such as Masters Of Rock (CZ), Galapagai Roko Naktys Festival (LT), and Download in the UK, where they earned a nod of approval from no less than the Daily Mail; 'Other honourable mentions for Friday also have to go to Slash, still the coolest guy in rock, and London-based Neonfly who performed early on the acoustic stage.'
A full European tour as main support to Magnum in the Autumn of 2012 was followed by a UK tour in support of Finnish melodic metallers Sonata Arctica. Neonfly were invited back to the Masters Of Rock Festival in 2013, where they excelled in front of 10,000 baying punters, before returning to the UK to light up the Sophie Lancaster Stage at Bloodstock 2013. Neonfly's rapidly rising reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the live arena then won them an invitation to open for Alice Cooper on the German leg of his Raise The Dead Tour 2013.
Neonfly, who had been writing and honing new songs down constantly on the road over the previous three years, then began recording what was to become 'Strangers In Paradise', at Hofa Studios in Frankfurt, with Dennis Ward, who they had met and gelled with at Masters Of Rock 2012.
'Strangers In Paradise' is the work of a band who have patently grown in stature and now very much developed their own true musical and lyrical voice. Issues addressed include invasion, addiction, social injustice, political corruption, the end of innocence and emotional loss. The album artwork, inspired by Aztec / Mesoamerican culture, is courtesy of up and coming US artist Jorge 'Qetza' Garza.
Particular highlights among the ten expertly produced and perfectly performed compositions on 'Strangers In Paradise' include the soaring single 'Better Angels', the hard driving 'Highways To Nowhere', the melodious, proggy 'Heart Of The Sun', and the balladic album closer 'Falling Star'.

Universal Music are proud to announce the next stage of KISS' 40th anniversary celebrations, with the release of a Deluxe Edition of the 1977 U.S. platinum album, Love Gun, on 2CD and digital formats.

The band's sixth studio recording, Love Gun was the first album to feature lead vocal performances from all four original band members, and the last studio album with the original KISS line-up. Love Gun has since gone on to sell more than four million copies worldwide.

CRAZY LIXX Return with Self-titled Fourth Album in November on Frontiers

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of the hotly anticipated fourth studio album from CRAZY LIXX. The self-titled album will be released on November 7th in Europe and November 11th in North America.
Just like every Rock band does at some point in their career, CRAZY LIXX thought it was the right time to release their Self-Titled album: the kind of album that really does the band’s name justice and that shows everyone what the band and their music is really all about. This is that album for Sweden’s CRAZY LIXX!
Says lead singer and producer Danny Rexon“We were discussing possible titles for the album and we didn’t really feel like any of the suggestions were quite right. Then I came up with the idea of a making it a self-titled album and we all agreed this was the right time for one. You know, bearing the very name of the band, a self-titled album does have a lot to live up to, but we all felt that this album has what it takes to represent the band as a whole, both in terms of the songs, the sound and the performance.”

With their new album, CRAZY LIXX show their growth as a band by sinking their teeth into 11 anthemic rock songs that will satisfy both the hardcore Lixx fans, as well as all fans of melodic hard rock and hair metal in general. By combining the strategies of recording and producing the album themselves along with utilizing the mixing skills of the great Chris Laney, the band has once again returned to the bombastic sound of CRAZY LIXX’s earlier work while at the same time adding the improved song-writing and musicianship of today’s CRAZY LIXX.
“We learnt a lot through the years, especially when it comes to the recording process and we put all that knowledge and experience to use on this album. We used many different studio settings to record different parts of the album and did not rush the recording, but made sure everything was as good as it could get. At the same time we did not want to be too nitpicking with details, I mean we’re still in the business of rock n’ roll, right?”, adds guitarist and co-producer of the album Andy Zata.

In addition to returning to the old CRAZY LIXX sound, the band has also re-recorded fan favorite “Heroes are Forever” which was originally on the band’s first, now out of print album. “It’s this one song, that was our first single back in around 2006, that we’ve played on almost every live show we’ve done since then, but when we started to think about it, it was a song that a lot of our fans had no chance to ever listen to. The first album, ‘Loud Minority’, was released on a minor independent label, in a limited printing which has long since sold out, and it isn’t available digitally either. Still we felt that the track was one of those songs that had a really fundamental CRAZY LIXX vibe to it, so we decided to record it again and give the fans a nice treat. If you ask me, it came out way better this second time around,” says drummer Joél Cirera.
Newest and youngest member, bassist Jens Sjöholm adds: “Being my first album release with Crazy Lixx I don’t really have any special expectations, but hearing the final result and seeing how fired up the guys are about it makes me look forward to seeing the reactions of the fans and media.”
With the addition of Jens Sjöholm and the return of original drummer Joél Cirera, CRAZY LIXX Mk III proved to be the best lineup to date, both in concert and on record. “I think the fans will really enjoy what we’ve got in store for them with this album. Killer songs, great sound and memorable hooks combined with a bit of the twin guitar action and riff-based approach that we added to the sound on our last album,” says guitarist Edd Liam.
“It’s really a bit of a do or die, no guts, no glory situation – after all, you only get one chance to do a self titled album, so make sure you do it good,” concludes Danny Rexon.
“Crazy Lixx” tracklisting: Hell Raising Women; Sound Of The Loud Minority; Outlaw; Girls Of The 80’s; I Missed The Mark; All Looks, No Hooks; Ain’t No Rest In Rock N’ Roll; Call To Action; Heroes Are Forever; Psycho City; Wrecking Ball Crew.
You can enjoy the first samples from the new album by clicking on the following link:

CRAZY LIXX are: DANNY REXON Vocals, JOÈL CIRERA Drums, ANDY ZATA Guitar & Background Vocals, JENS SJOHOLM Bass, EDD LIAM Guitar & Background Vocals

BRYAN ADAMS' 'Reckless' Super Deluxe Edition Due November

Bryan Adams' classic Reckless album is finally getting the deluxe treatment it deserves. The detauls below. It seems one bonus track and a live cut have been omitted from the original track details announced, so keep watch for clarification on that.
The super deluxe set features six previously unreleased tracks (including the song Reckless) appended to the main album on disc one, while disc two features an April 1985 BBC In Concert live recording from Hammersmith Odeon. The two-CD deluxe limits itself to discs one and two from the super deluxe, and if you are only interested in hi-res and 5.1 the blu-ray audio is also available separately.
A two-LP vinyl edition will include the bonus tracks and “live tracks” - suggesting most (0r all) of the Hammersmith tracks will be on the record.
Reckless will be reissued on 3 November 2014.

UMC originally released Reckless three decades ago on 05 November 1984 ' on Adams ' 25th birthday -  the 10-track record, spawned six ground-breaking hit singles, "Run To You", "Somebody", "Heaven", "Summer of 69", "One Night Love Affair" and "It's Only Love" ' the duet with the iconic Tina Turner.  Reckless is the album that catapulted Adams' career onto the international stage, becoming a multi-million selling disc in the U.K., Australia, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.S., Germany and of course his home country of Canada.  From the opening act to headliner, Top 20 to #1, the album was the tipping point in Adams' career.
The original 10-track recording of Reckless stretched on for months: sessions began in March 1984, but the album wasn't finished until September.  "By the time I'd finished the album," noted Adams, "I was completely exhausted.  I'd pushed everybody, including myself, very hard.  It was almost like I didn't care about any other relationship anymore with anybody.  I was just going to make the best record I possibly could."
History proves he did just that. "Reckless was just the right record at the right time," says Adams.  "It was just unstoppable."
