Let's get straight to the point if you only buy one EP this year, or any year, make it this one.
Not only is it full of high class melodic rock, it's also great value for money.
Featuring the lead track from Jeff's upcoming new solo album Prism, Holding On is a prime example of why Jeff is highly regarded both in Europe and in the USA.
He appeals to fans on both side of the world with his unique brand of high power melodic hard rock.
Holding On is a hard rock ballad, leading off with piano, with some big guitars kicking in shortly after. What I love is the fact the song can be a heartfelt melodic track, but still contain some solid guitar work. The sound is classic Soto the song definitely has an 80's feel to it, along the lines of Soto's best regarded work. A great sample of what's to come.
But there is more! As featured is track 2 an exclusive studio version of the Journey classic Send Her My Love. Jeff's covered and released this song live, but this studio version is just as haunting and powerful. A truly awesome vocal from Jeff.
Tracks 3 and 4 are your first taste of what is to come with the release of the live CD and DVD, recorded at this year's Gods Festival. The sound is obviously 100% live, so it's nice and raw, but what a great sound! It's a big full rock sound and will raise the bar as far as quality of live releases within the melodic community. Featured are Again 2 B Found (featuring guest Pontus Norgren on guitar) and Stand Up the track Jeff sung for the Rock Star movie. A great heavy version with powerhouse guitarist Howie Simon strutting his stuff.
Track 5 is the track 4 U a funky Prince-like ballad taken from Jeff's debut solo album Love Parade.
But that isn't all! No, as an additional bonus you get a Quicktime Video for the single Holding On.
And this is no amateur clip this is a great film clip that was pro-shot and edited by none other than Gary Schutt. An excellent clip.

The Bottom Line
Pretty simple - All Soto fans and fans of classic style melodic rock should take a listen to this.
Great running time for an EP, ok artwork and good sequencing of tracks.
One of the best, most well rounded EPs I have seen. Highly recommended.
