ALL'S WELL, BUT NO ENDING FOR STEVE LUKATHER:
Guitarist, vocalist, composer, producer and arranger, Steve Lukather is set to release his new solo album All's Well That Ends Well on Monday October 11.
The founding member of Toto, Lukather will showcase his innate feel for rock and jazz guitar music, along with his song writing talents. The new album is laden with extraordinary guitar playing performed across some of the best and most emotional songs of Steve's career. Fee Waybill of the Tubes is featured on backing vocals and contributes to some of the co-song writing with CJ Vanston and Lukather.
“I'm very excited because I have some great new music,” says Lukather. “I am trying for a personal best and working very hard on all aspects of music. It's a journey that's for sure.” For over 30 years Lukather has been known as one of the founding members of the multi million selling band Toto. He has played on hundreds of albums with the biggest stars and music legends including Van Halen, Whitney Houston, Alice Cooper, George Benson, Rod Stewart and even played guitar on Michael Jackson's multi-million selling milestone album 'Thriller'.
Along with several Grammy Awards over the years, in April 2010 he received the international Eddy Christiani Award for 33 years of guitar mastership. To coincide with the release of the album, Steve will embark on a European tour in November that will take in concerts in Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland and England. The concerts will showcase classics from his all his solo albums, Toto, plus tracks from his new album.

TRIBUTES ABOUND:
Versailles Records is excited to announce that Tracii Guns (founding guitarist of Guns N' Roses and L.A. Guns) and Tarsha, lead vocalist of Adler's Appetite, have joined the artist roster for Rock & Roll Train: A Millennium Tribute to AC/DC. While Guns is teaming with Fuel bassist Rev Jones on an acoustic rendition of the Bon Scott-era classic 'Gimmie a Bullet', Tarsha is joining Richard Kendrick on the Brian Johnson-era Back in Black, joining an already star-studded track listing that includes Chris Poland (Megadeth), Keri Kelli (Alice Cooper Band), Chris Slade (AC/DC), Ira Black (Lizzy Borden), Damon Johnson (Brother Cane), Richard Kendrick (Near Life Experience, Straitjacket Smile), Derrick LeFevre (Lillian Axe), Rose Reiter (Skyscreamers), Gregg Analla, Loaded Dice, Bugsy Parker, Robot Lords of Tokyo, and a host of others.

Danger Danger frontman Ted Poley has joined the roster of the upcoming tribute album Whole Lotta Love: An All-Star Salute To Fat Chicks. Ted appears alongside his Poley/Rivera collaborator Vic Rivera, who also produced and arranged the music for their track. The duo breathes new life into the song "All Lips N' Hips" by the Electric Boys, who themselves recently reunited after a 15-year hiatus. A surprise MTV hit in 1990, "All Lips N' Hips" paints the sonic picture of an exotic dancer endowed with generous feminine curvature. A sample of the song is now available at the official "Whole Lotta Love" MySpace page: www.myspace.com/WholeLottaLoveTribute.

PEARL ADAY SPREADS HAPPINESS IN HARD TIMES:
Rock singer Pearl Aday has been around the music business her entire life. The daughter of legendary rocker Meat Loaf, Pearl has seen the ups and downs of the industry herself. She has a decade of touring experience under her belt with Motley Crue and her famous father, as well as recording with Filter and Ace Frehley. Pearl recently released her debut album, Little Immaculate White Fox, and in an interview with Long Live Rock on Blog Talk Radio, she explained why now is the right time for the album despite the slow economy and sluggishness of the music business overall.
"This is the first time I'm doing this. Maybe looking at it from a business perspective, it's not the best time to try and put a product out," the singer acknowledged. "It was just ready, and I've been ready to do something like this. I've been wanting to do something like this forever. I don't know if it sounds cheesy, but maybe in a bad economy, people are looking for something to pick up their spirits and just have fun with, and that's just the kind of music that we're making right now."
Pearl recently toured the US headlining clubs, and she said the experience was encouraging in a time when many major acts are having to cancel shows and even scrap entire tours. "The response that we got from the crowds coming to the shows was just, 'Thank you so much for coming.' Especially places like Rockford, Illinois and Appleton, Wisconsin . . . places like that, they were just really appreciative, and really had a blast. That's what makes it worth it to me. It's so much fun, and that's the reason I do it; to let it all out, and to have a good time and celebrate rock music. People need it."
Pearl will be opening for Meat Loaf starting in August, and Little Immaculate White Fox is available now. Listen to the entire Long Live Rock interview at this link: www.wewillrockyoublog.com/2010/07/26/interview-with-pearl-aday-from-long-live-rock.

BANG TANGO VOCALIST TALKS:
In the world of rock 'n' roll there are often two sides to every story -- and sometimes even more than that. When Sleaze Roxx talked to one-time Bang Tango guitarist Mark Knight a couple months ago he announced that the original members would be reuniting as Bang Tango Redux for a few select shows -- and, unable to contact vocalist Joe LeSte, they decided to try their luck with a new singer. Now Joe LeSte wants to tell his side of the story, saying that none of the other Bang Tango members tried to contact him about a reunion, that he is still slugging it out on the road, re-recording a brand new CD with the latest addition to the band guitarist Scott LaFlamme and what really happened with rumors of his death circulated around the internet late last year: www.sleazeroxx.com/interviews/joeleste.shtml.

New York, NY: What better way for a band to show its love for its fans than by playing a free show in their hometown? JANI LANE TALKS FROM THE HEART:
This is from last week, but after former Warrant vocalist Jani Lane copped a jail sentence, I figured his latest press release was worth adding to the newsdesk:

"I'm not founded on the notion that any press is good press. I'm more than willing to face the consequences for my bad decisions. I'm extremely remorseful about how this has affected my family, friends and fans. I have done a ton of soul searching. This is not a situation I ever dreamed of finding myself in but here I am. I will walk through this and take it as a wake up call. I believe everything happens for a reason. This comes at a time when I am writing some of the best music of my life. I intend to man-up, get through this and release something new in the fall-winter of this year. I will do several shows this holiday season simply because I love to perform and the fans deserve to see me at my best. I want to thank all my friends and fans who have expressed their amazing support and especially my wife and children who continue to surround me with love. This is one of the most trying times and yet enlightening that I've ever faced. I'll be back...and more determined than ever. I love the Warrant songs. I wrote them from the heart but I have a side to my songwriting that a lot of people may be unaware of...I intend to change that!
To the guys in Warrant...I wish you the best as well.
My true hope is that anyone out there dealing with personal problems...the consequences do not get lighter. I can only say I've never regretted a good decision or action and never been proud of bad ones. People have an astounding ability to forgive...I have to start with forgiving myself. That is something that I find far more difficult than I imagined. I think it starts with gratitude. Today I'm grateful.
Thank you for reading...sincerely, Jani Lane....
PS. A personal, from the depths of my soul, thank you to my beautiful wife and children. Without you I would not have the strength or desire to do what I have to do! My love is eternal...I will never let you or myself down again. To the thousands of supportive fans...you amaze me...I will do my very best to return the favor!"

BAY AREA MUSICIANS CAMPAIGN TO CLEAN WILDLIFE IMPACTED BY GULF DISASTER:
CUPERTINO, Calif. – July 26, 2010 – As the world watches the events unfold of the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history, bay area rock group Luxx has launched a creative campaign to help clean up the gulf. The group has written a song, "Black Water" and made it available on ReverbNation today for download. All 100% of the net proceeds of the single's sales will go toward helping the impacted wildlife in the gulf. Contributions will be divided between two organizations that are actively involved in the effort: the National Wildlife Federation and the Audubon Society.
"The size and scale of the gulf disaster are so large, one can feel helpless wondering about how to make a difference," said David Szabados, spokesman and guitarist for Luxx. "But the truth of the matter is that taking action is the key. The National Wildlife Federation and Audubon Society are working tirelessly to help the creatures in need and it's imperative that we do whatever we can to support them."
"Black Water" is available today to download at the band's ReverbNation Luxx store at: www.reverbnation.com/store/index/artist_876982. For more information about the band, its music, and additional causes, visit the band's Facebook page at: www.hs.facebook.com/pages/Luxx/141896992493685. Additional product support for the recording of "Black Water" was generously provided by Seagate Technology.

On the weekend of July 23rd, the Westwood One Superstar Series will be broadcasting a concert by BILLY IDOL and his 2010 band lineup – Steve Stevens, Billy Morrison, Stephen McGrath, Jeremy Colson and Derek Sherinian – recorded live from Ljbujiana, Slovenia on June 24. Your local station will be offering a free download from the show on their sites after the broadcast airs so check the list for the station in your area and go to their site for the exact time and date. Also visit BillyIdol.net for an additional download after the broadcast. Billy Idol kicks off his North American tour August 5th in Tulalip, WA.

BRET MICHAELS, LITA FORD, TED POLEY HEAT THINGS UP AT DAKOTA ROCK FEST:
Ted Poley takes it literally, and shares his second degree burns with all the readers. The third annual Dakota Rock Fest took place in Sioux Falls, S.D. July 22-24 at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds. Like Rocklahoma a couple years back, Dakota Rock Fest 2010 unfortunately had to battle with Mother Nature, and it ended up shortening the Friday night event to just two bands—Lita Ford and Bret Michaels. While the weather didn't turn tornadic, it still put a bit of a damper on the event, considering one of the best new bands on the planet, Mama Kin, traveled from Sweden and didn't get to show the crowd exactly why you need to be their biggest fan ...
To read the review, see the 100+ photos and of course, Poley's burned up knees, head to: hardrockhaven.net/online/2010/dakota-rockfest-weathers-the-storm-bret-michaels-and-vince-neil-host-three-day-festival/.

EONIAN RECORDS INTRODUCES SUMMER TITLES:
Fresh off of sold out shows in both Los Angeles and Chicago, Eonian Record's Gynger Lynn present their 16 track sophomore release. Gynger Lynn takes the listener through a British pop-influenced, punk-laced, sleaze-metal thrill ride with memorable hooks and giant melodies. Excellent mood and atmosphere throughout as just about every song strikes a chord, whether it be emotional or in a pure rocking sense. All aspects of the band's songwriting also reach their respective peaks on "Baby's Gone Bad," with the lyrical content and wording especially poignant. This release is a must for lover's of L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, and Enuff's N' Nuff.
Track Listing: 1. Take Me Away 2. Need to Know 3. Baby's All Talk 4. Along the Way 5. Yes It's True 6. Need A Little Love 7. Goin' Home 8. Summertime 9. Lonely, Lonely 10. Never Find a Better Girl 11. Wanna Be Your Lover 12. The Chance 13. Stay with Me 14. Baby's Gone Bad 15. Bad Luck 16. Way of the World.

xx

On deck, Eonian Record's most asked about and anticipated releases in Sweet Sybil. Similar to GNR, Van Halen, and L.A. Guns, Sweet Sybil's calling card was raw sexuality and sleaze with a wall of full sounding, in your face street metal. As a favor to a local promoter, the group entered a legendary Chicago battle of the band's contest. The announcer was given a set list and mistakenly announced the band as Sweet Sybil, the first song on the list. The band won and the erroneous name change stuck. Sweet Sybil has opened on a string of tours, opening for such acts as Extreme, Alice in Chains, Enuff Z'Nuff, Dirty Looks, and King's X just to name a handful. Sweet Sybil's Eonian debut features four singles: "Remember When," '#69," "Someone In Your Eyes," and the standout "Alone With You" produced & engineered by Johnny K. (Disturbed, Avenged, and Sevenfold.)
Program Director for 'Turn It Up' on WSCA 106.1 FM had the following to say about Sweet Sybil: "I really like this record; it's one of my favorites from the Eonian. It's like the best album L.A. Guns wishes they could have made. It's Bon Jovi with balls! This is a fun record to listen to."
Track Listing: 1. Remember When 2. #69 3. Downtown Suicide 4. Walkin' Talkin' 5. Someone in Your Eyes 6. Jump Back 7. Burning House 8. Alone With You 9. You and I.
Both Gynger Lynn "Baby's Gone Bad" and Sweet Sybil "Self-Titled" are both available worldwide, as well as directly through Eonian Record's Rockshop at www.EonianRecords.com.

MORE PEAK INTO ISSA'S SIGN OF ANGELS:
Hot on the heels of the buzz caused by the launch of the release of Issa's debut album Sign of Angels, Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the digital only release of the single track I'm Alive on August 20.
The song was written especially for Issa by a dream team of Swedish songwriters from Örebro, including Tim Larsson, Johan Fransson, Tobias Lundgren (of Play Production, responsible of penning songs for the likes of Susan Boyle, Martin Stenmarck, Ashley Tisdale, Alcazar, Place Vendome, Saint Deamon, Primal Fear among others), Ronny Milanowicz (the album producer and also drummer of Saint Deamon) and Joacim Cans (of Hammerfall).
Issa says “We had the best of times recording this song and it was actually the first track we recorded, the foundation for the rest of the album. It is a special song and to me it represents strength, independence and the courage to stand for yourself. Also I'm Alive makes you get that ”I can do anything” feeling, no matter what! It has the all elements of Rock 'n Roll plus catchy melody-lines all wrapped up into one song - one listen and you're hooked”.
The video clip of “I'm Alive” can be watched on YouTube now. Click on the image and enjoy the clip.
Watch out for Issa debut album “Sign of Angels” to be released in Europe on September 24 and USA on October 12 on Frontiers Records.

MELODICROCK UPDATES:
Manufacturing of MRR001 - or Jimi Jamison & Jim Peterik - Extra Moments to be precise has been completed (just a few days late!) and is on its way to MR HQ now. Shipment should arrive Monday with all pre-orders to be shipped out by Wednesday next week. Stores carrying the title will receive it in stock during next week - AOR Heaven, NEH Records, Destiny Records, many HMV outlets throughout the UK and other popular specialist outlets. Pre-orders still available (with soundbytes) at: www.melodicrockrecords.com.

A final track listing for MRCD7 is just days away. No sneak peaks just yet, but the specially themed 2CD compilation will be released September 4 (pre-orders in August) and will be titled Forces Of Dark And Light.

BTW – All T-Shirt orders have finally been processed and shipped and should be with folks any day now. I'll do a re-count of numbers and plug them again shortly.

Complete MRF2 coverage by the guys at Rockeyez is now online - day by day pictures and reviews and a summary of the event also. Terrific coverage by these great folks. Check it out at: www.rockeyez.com. Speaking of MelodicRockFest - lots of folks asking about possibilities for MRF3. Right now - not likely. With the MRF2 venue closing and the need to go through the whole process of finding another venue on top of the financial loss from the last show....it just seems a mountain too high to climb without a major sponsor along for the ride. Fact is - I never even secured a sponsor for the first two shows aside from some generous private contributions. Never say never, but not right now....

Sorry, but no reviews up this week as hoped as I still cannot sit for more than 15-20 mins without having to rest my back. It's made for a challenging week! Hoping to get more up to date next week.

GLENN HUGHES ANNOUNCES UK TOUR:
Iconic vocalist and bass guitarist, GLENN HUGHES, known to millions of hard rock fans as the undisputed “Voice of Rock” will embark on a 15-date UK tour in September. Formerly the lead singer and bassist of Trapeze, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, and the forthcoming hotly tipped rock supergroup Black Country Communion, Hughes blistering near-on two hour live extravaganza will consist of an unforgettable career retrospective. “I'm proud of my heritage, and the UK fans have always been the most supportive and receptive to me and my music,” says Hughes. “I'm thrilled to embark on what's possibly the most extensive UK solo tour of my career. I've just made an album that I am extremely proud of with Black Country Communion, and until that band goes out on the road, I'm channeling all the power and energy from the BCC experience, into these dates. I'm a lean, mean rock machine.”
Fans can expect a diverse selection of classic songs from Trapeze, Deep Purple, Hughes Thrall and Glenn's solo albums, with an emphasis on performing some new, interesting selections, including some that have rarely/never been played live before.
A complete set list has not been determined as yet, but some songs have been decided upon, and they will really set the tongues wagging, feet stomping and bodies groovin'.
Hughes is known for his distinctive style that effortlessly blends the finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. He's worked with everyone from Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, the KLF, members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and more recently with Jason Bonham and Joe Bonamassa for his new rock supergoup Black Country Communion.
He is hailed by millions as one of the last of the truly great British classic rock vocalists of all time. So much so, in fact, that Glenn has been asked to sing with Heaven and Hell at the High Voltage festival in London on Saturday July 24th, in a tribute to their front man, the late, great Ronnie James Dio. Lifelong friends, Ronnie often cited Glenn as his favourite male singer, so it is only fitting that the Voice of Rock will be singing in honour of the Voice of Metal.
In keeping with the tradition of the classic British hard rock vibe that he has focused on with Black Country Communion, Glenn's new solo touring band has a harder, more direct rock approach than previous incarnations. The upcoming solo tour promises to be an exciting and powerful showcase for the Voice of Rock.

FRONTIERS RECORDS TO RELEASE ANTICIPATED KISKE-SOMERVILLE COLLABORATION:
Napoli, July, 2010 Eighteen months in the making, some of the most beautiful voices in the scene, a massive production, one hell of an album, two video clips and one documentary… The Kiske-Somerville collaboration album has all the trademarks of a real event for the Rock fans in 2010, and the release on September 24 in Europe and October 12 in the USA mark some dates that should be noted in every fan agendas.
The collaboration between vocalist Michael Kiske (Helloween, Place Vendome) and American singer Amanda Somerville was born as a concept put together thanks to the input of Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino. “I did a duet with a female singer on 'Breathing Water' by Indigo Dying”, explains Michael Kiske. “It was so nice that he offered me a chance to make an album of all duet songs with a famous female singer."
This exciting album sees Mat Sinner (Primal Fear, Sinner) and Magnus Karlsson (Starbreaker, Primal Fear) handling most of the songwriting (with more contributions from Sander Gommans formerly of After Forever and Amanda Sormeville herself), with Sinner overseeing the production & mix at various recording studios in Europe.

Amanda Somerville is the American singer-songwriter and vocal coach who was tapped to replace Epica vocalist Simone Simons on the band's North American tour with Symphony X due to Simons' health issues. Amanda was also featured on Kamelot's latest release, "Ghost Opera", the Rock Opera “Aina” and recently toured with Avantasia.
“When Mat Sinner asked me if I wanted to be the "other half" of the face of the album, I was very honored and quite looking forward to working more closely with Michael Kiske” tells Amanda. “We'd both been involved in various projects over the years together, such as Aina and Avantasia, but it was always through third parties and we didn't sing together like we do here. It's not for nothing that Michael's a legend in the scene. He's got a very unique voice, a special delivery of his performance and is a wonderful person on top of it all. This has been a great experience all across the board!”. Kiske adds “To sing together with the gifted and beautiful Amanda was another genius idea of Serafino! And it was a most pleasant experience to meet her. Amanda has by far the best female voice I have heard for ages. And the album is a killer.”
Two video clips were filmed for the songs "Silence" and "If I Had A Wish" in Nurnberg, Germany. Joining Kiske and Somerville for the shoot were bassist and main composer Mat Sinner, guitarist Sander Gommans (After Forever), drummer Rami Ali and keyboardist Jimmy Kresic (Voodoo Circle). The clips were directed by Martin Mueller of RCN TV, who previously helmed the videoclip production for Unheilig, Subway To Sally, Helloween, U.D.O. and Gotthard.
The digital only release of the single, "Silence" on August 20, will precede the release of the full-length CD.

The Kiske-Somerville album final track listing includes: Nothing Left To Say; Silence; If I Had A Wish; One Night Burning; Arise; End Of The Road; Don't Walk Away; A Thousand Suns; Rain; Devil In Her Heart; Second Chance; Set A Fire (bonus track).
The Bonus DVD will include video clips of “Silence” and “If I Had A Wish” plus a “Making of” documentary. The songs “Silence” and “If I Had A Wish” can exclusively be listened to in full by streaming on the Frontiers Web Radio from July 20. Tune in at: www.frontiers.it/webradio.

GUNS N ROSES ONLY US SHOW IN 2010 ANNOUNCED:
Los Angeles (July 20, 2010) – Making their first U.S. concert appearance in four years – and playing their only U.S. show in 2010 - Guns N' Roses has been officially recruited with Daughtry to join the inaugural Rock 'N Rev Festival and cement its assault on the legendary Sturgis Rally's 70th Anniversary celebration in Sturgis, SD, at the newly constructed Rock N' Rev Amphitheater at Monkey Rock USA.
Guns N' Roses will headline the fifth and final night of the festival, as it moves to the Brand New Rock 'N Rev Amphitheater at Monkey Rock USA in Sturgis, adjacent to its original location. L.A.'s notorious rock 'n' roll bad boys - one of Q magazine's "50 Bands to See Before You Die" – have combined forces with HDlogix and DC3 Global for this rare and very special appearance on home soil to bring the "full-out rock 'n' roll spectacle" (Spin) of their 2010 "Chinese Democracy World Tour" to Sturgis and finish off the hijacking of the world's biggest, baddest biker event, Monday, Aug. 9 through Friday, Aug. 13, 2010.
Guns N' Roses' final night performance, immediately following previously announced Aug. 13 headliner Alice in Chains, is the ultimate climax to five full nights of undeniable rock 'n' roll bedlam, and now gives the Rock 'N Rev Festival six of the most explosive, multi-platinum AMERICAN Active Rock Bands of 2010. Daughtry, supporting its second consecutive #1 album, will join 3 Doors Down, Hinder and others on Aug. 12, the 4th night of the Rock N' Rev Festival.
In order to welcome Guns N' Roses and Daughtry to the Rock 'N Rev Festival, new festival owners HDlogix and its producers, DC3 Global, are starting construction immediately on the Rock N' Rev Amphitheater at Monkey Rock USA, a new custom-built amphitheater on a 25-acre site at Monkey Rock designed to maximize logistical opportunities while enhancing the overall experience for everyone attending – from the bands to the fans.
"We are truly blessed to be able to announce the addition of Guns N' Roses at this historic moment in the band's history, along with Daughtry, just as we relocate the Rock 'N Rev Festival to our own Amphitheater at Monkey Rock USA," said DC3's co-founder, Daniel E. Catullo III. "Monkey Rock's vision to create a nationally recognized brand among the world's top motorcycle rallies is a perfect fit for us, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome them as our partners."
Raising the insanity level to previously unimaginable heights, Guns N' Roses and Daughtry are just the latest high octane multi-platinum rockers to join the growing list of bands at the Rock 'N Rev Festival. They unite with fellow headliners Stone Temple Pilots, Godsmack, Creed, Alice in Chains and 3 Doors Down to establish the Rock 'N Rev Festival as "The Home of Rock's Hardest New Chart Toppers" – a different one topping each night's lineup.
Tickets for the Rock 'N Rev Festival are $45 per day, general admission ($150 for a five-day pass), and On Sale Now through Ticketmaster.com and rocknrevfestival.com and at all Ticketmaster locations, or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. LORD ON TOUR AND ON NEW EP:
Melodic metal favourites Lord have unveiled their latest touring venture, taking them across Australia once again, including trips to the far north, as well as making their way back to Japan for the second year in a row. The band have also announced their latest EP release 'Return of the Tyrant' which will be released in the coming months. Commented Lord main man LT, "We're finally able to announce the tour dates for the rest of the year. This was a logistical nightmare with so many other high-profile acts touring Australia right now, meant that some places we wanted to get to just weren't realistic this time around. This tour will also include our run of shows in Japan with Doro and Jaded Heart, which we're extremely excited about"
"The other great news is we have a new Lord release out soon; an EP entitled 'Return of the Tyrant'. Anyone who has followed our history knows about Dungeon, the band that spawned Lord after it dissolved in 2005. Dungeon had a popular song called 'Tarranno Del Mar' - a fun pirate themed song that Lord still enjoys playing to this day. We felt it was time to revisit the story and write the next part in the saga. The song 'Return Of The Tyrant' is full of piratey singalongs and is nearly ten minutes long, so it's quite an epic! Apart from that, we have some cool cover songs and a whole bunch of cool interpretations of Lord and Dungeon songs, so there's quite a lot of material for an EP. We'll be revealing the full track list and cover art really soon."

The band recently released a tongue-in-cheek cover of Kylie Minogue's "On A Night Like This", which become an instant success, and must see for many.

ERIK NORLANDER SUPPORTS BOB MOOG:
El Dorado Hills, CA - Erik Norlander is many things to the world of synth-driven symphonic rock. He is a maestro at the keys, a composer, producer, synth designer and a sterling bandmate and colleague to many in the music industry. For a limited time only, the Bob Moog Foundation will offer his new CD, the very Moog-centric "The Galactic Collective", with a donation of $25.00 to the BMF. Norlander's most recent CD release includes insightful liner notes from Michelle Moog-Koussa where she speaks to Norlander's connection to Bob Moog, the synthesizer pioneer whose namesake inventions revolutionized popular music in the late 1960s and 70s. Here is a sampling from those introductory notes: "It is said that in hands of the highest caliber, the use of technology becomes magic. Not pull-a-rabbit-out-of-a-hat magic, but awe-inspiring transcendental connection. Bob handed off his technological, musical baton and Erik Norlander has cradled it in his hands, skillfully, lovingly exploring the limits of sonic expression and incorporating it into his expressive, epic music. Magic. Each $25 donation supports the Bob Moog Foundation's mission to educate, inspire and innovate through electronic music." To donate $25, please visit this link: https://secure.groundspring.org/dn/index.php?aid=11672. All donations are tax deductible.

PAUL GILBERT TO RELEASE 3RD GUITAR INSTRUMENTAL CD:
Hollywood, CA (July 2, 2010) – Paul Gilbert unleashes his 3rd instrumental masterpiece on Shrapnel Records, August 3rd to the world. Fuzz Universe is my third guitar instrumental album,” explains Gilbert. “Being a fan of pop music and rock bands, I am a reluctant convert into the art of instrumental rock music. But after touring with Joe Satriani's G3, I witnessed firsthand the power of the electric guitar to take center stage and rock the audience. Playing my guitar-driven songs live was a blast! This discovery led to a huge increase in my touring as a solo artist. In the last couple of years, I've played nearly 150 shows all over the world, with my guitar leading the way.”
Fuzz Universe title is inspired by Gilbert being so immersed in the world of guitar it made him realize that he lives in a Fuzz Universe. “Every generation of guitar players has their own terminology for the rock guitar sound: Distortion, Overdrive, Gain, Crunch, Saturation, Drive etc. For me, the word is Fuzz”
Gilbert's extraordinary talent of arranging/composing lends to the new music's fresh melodies for songs that shows his true diversity and only in Gilberts words will you understand:
“On Fuzz Universe, I think I've taken a giant step closer to the ultimate rock guitar sound and playing of my dreams. I've used many of my signature techniques from Racer X and MR. BIG, but twisted them into new chords, grooves, and emotions. As always, my influences are diverse and not what you might expect from a "heavy metal" artist. While I was writing the songs for Fuzz Universe, I was immersing myself in Bulgarian Female Choir music, Baroque lute and violin pieces, Johnny Cash songs about trains, cows, mules, and mining coal, the Bee Gees, and Ronnie James Dio. I mix all this into my head, and out came endless new ideas for my guitar to chew on.
After several months of being locked in my writing room, I gathered my touring band together and headed to the studio. Jeff Bowders played drums. Craig Martini played bass. Emi Gilbert (my wife) played keyboards. And I bent the guitar strings until I couldn't play anymore. As usual, there are no dramatic stories here. No heroin overdoses, motorcycle accidents, celebrity divorces, or band-member boxing matches. The emotion, drama, and power are all in the music. That is the universe that I want to live in”

Paul Gilbert is regarded internationally as one of the greatest players in the industry. Starting his recording career with Shrapnel Records as a teenager in the late 80's, Gilbert remains one of the most active guitarists from the original shred guitar scene. His rise to Platinum success includes a number one song with Mister Big, and cult status as founding member of the legendary and highly successful underground progressive metal band Racer X.

JACKYL PARTNER UP WITH ADULT SWIM FOR ANIMATED TV SERIES SQUIDBILLIES:
Who better to pen a song for an animated family of anthropomorphic hillbilly squids living in the Appalachian region of North Georgia's mountains than the Georgia-based, multi-Platinum selling rock act - JACKYL?
Adult Swim has certainly hit the nail on the head by assigning Jesse James Dupree, along with fellow Jackyl band members, guitarist Jeff Worley, bassist Roman Glick, and drummer Chris Worley, to write an original song to be used in an upcoming episode of the Squidbillies animated TV series, currently in its fourth season.
The exclusive track, Raised By Jackyl, will be featured in the 30-minute all-star musical episode - America: Why I Love Her scheduled to air on July 18th at 12AM ET/PT. In addition to the track, the creators of the show have transformed the members of Jackyl into animated characters who interact in the world of the Squidbillies.
The animated members of Jackyl find themselves raising Rusty, the neglected son of Squidbillies patriarch Early Cuyler. They do everything from potty training, teaching him karate, immunizing him, feeding him, and of course, singing him to sleep complete with Dupree's signature chainsaw. As the song progresses, you come to realize that they're training him to be a roadie for the band: teaching him how to run the soundboard, drive the tour bus, and how to court a groupie.

INTRODUCING DISTORTED WONDERLAND:
Jamsync Music and Swedish rockers Distorted Wonderland have inked a deal for the release of their highly anticipated debut. Distorted Wonderland features vocalist Olof Lindgren and bassist Axel Karlsson from the Swedish glam band Overnight Sensation. Moving in a different direction, Olof and Axel wanted to move on into a different direction. The idea was to combine strong melodies with hard and heavy riffs. When Olof and Axel were recording the backup vocals on Swedish rockers Hardcore Superstar's fourth album, they felt inspired and that the time was right for a new band. As a side project, they spent time writing songs and pre-producing the material until the pieces fell into place. Together with Petter Karlsson on the drums and Fredrik Lundstedt on guitar they started to record their self titled first album. The new video was also shot for the single on 'Raised On Rock n' Roll'. In 2009 Overnight Sensation decided to split. Now Olof and Axel could focus on Distorted Wonderland and the album was finally finished in early 2010. The eleven songs on the album were created through a wide spectra of influences and deliver a musical mass of heavy rock combined with melodic choruses. The thought behind each song was to create a suitable mood and a balance between lyrics and music resulting in this battering ram CD. Distorted Wonderland is set for a fall release. VICE AND ONLY CHILD RE-ISSUES FOR EUROPE:
Label: Yesterrock / Release Date: 23.07.2010 / Vice and Only Child re-issues.

Back in 1988 Vice signed their first major deal with BMG-Ariola in Germany. They recorded the first album in Hanover and called it 'Made for Pleasure'. All started up quite good. The promotion and the collaboration with BMG was excellent, they entered the charts and played many shows all over Europe. Among others Vice supported Bonfire on their first European tour. Chris Limburg, the main guy in Vice, produced two albums for the German Southern rockers. 10 years later he signed as a solid member in a band called….. Bonfire.
But back to the 90's Vice also played several TV shows, festivals, got a huge presence in magazines and radio, they got bigger and more famous by every week. But then the biggest shock you ever can imagine happened to the band….The singer Jan Ghiantinie died within only two month by a sickness called Rheumatic Child Disease. It was really hard to carry on with Vice. Two years later the band found a new singer, Alan Keen, half American with an amazing rock voice. We began with the song writing for a new album and called it 'Second Excess'. In the middle of the 90's, Vice released a 3rd album under a new name - Vice became Wet Paint and the album was called 'Shhh…'.
Chris Limburg today says: 'I am happy and a little proud, that Yesterrock and Sony were interested to re-release the first album of Vice: 'Made For Pleasure' for a new (old) upcoming rock period in 2010. The two unreleased bonus tracks were recorded by Vice in Autumn 1990 when the band was getting a little harder and rougher'.
Track list: 1. Feel My Body, 2. Last Day Of War, 3. Red Light Night, 4. Trouble In Paradise, 5. Bad Girl, 6. Made For Pleasure, 7. Running, 8. Rocking All Over The World, 9. Hot Summer Night Party, 10. Boys Got The Fever, 11. Sally, Bonus Tracks: 12. Circle, 13. Angels Crying.

The self-titled debut album by Paul Sabu's Only Child originally was released on Capitol Records in 1988. Written in 9 months and recorded in only 3 weeks, 'Only Child' not only has received outstanding press feedback and charts success at the time when it came out but later also was credited by Kerrang! Magazine as one of the top 40 best AOR albums ever. Through the years, 'Only Child' went out of print and became a much sought after release which was extremely hard to find.
Munich based label Yesterrock now is re-releasing this gem including the bonus tracks 'Young Guns' and 'Vice Versa'. The album was digitally re-mastered by Robert Papst.
1. Just Ask 2. Always 3. I Wanna Touch 4. I Remember The Night 5. Love To The Limit 6. I Believe In You 7. Save A Place In Your Heart 8. Rebel Eyes 9. Scream Until You Like It 10. Shot Heard Around The World; Bonus Tracks: 11. Young Guns 12. Vice Versa.

JOE ELLIOTT TALKS TO BILLBOARD:
Full Story here: www.billboard.com/news/joe-elliott-talks-side-project-new-def-leppard-1004104795.story?
Even as Joe Elliott releases the first album by his side project, Down 'n' Outz, Def Leppard is hatching plans for some archival projects in 2011. Elliott tells Billboard.com that the group, which is taking 2010 off from touring, is putting together a live album culled from its 2009 tour that may include some new material as well.
"We've got tentative plans to do a four- or five-track EP of new songs as part of it," Elliott explains, citing inspiration from previous concert releases such as Kiss' "Alive II," Ian Hunter's "Welcome to the Club" and Genesis' "Three Sides Live," all of which included fresh songs. The set will actually be Def Leppard's first full-scale live album, since the group has only released concert recordings on compilations and recent deluxe editions of "Pyromania," "Hysteria" and "Adrenalize."
"There'll be stuff from this century on it -- 'Rock On,' 'Nine Lives,' 'Come On Come On,' " Elliott notes. "Vivian [Campbell] has been in the band 17 years, so I think he deserves a shot at being on a live record. We've got a live video out from the Steve [Clark] era, [1989's] 'In the Round, In Your Face;' I've always said before that if you're desperate to hear us live, put that video on and turn your telly off and just listen to the sound."

BANGALORE CHOIR TO RELEASE "CADENCE" ON SEPTEMBER 24:
Label: Metal Heaven / Release Date: 24.09.2010 / Los Angeles 1990, David Reece and drummer Rusty Miller were ready to form a heavy but melodic Rock n Roll band named Bangalore Choir A place to look for great guitar players was the GIT in Hollywood so John Kirk and Danny Greenberg were found. Sharing the same musical vision the writing began. First songs were 'All or Nothin' and 'Slippin Away', both on the 'On Target' release. While rehearsing, John mentioned the guitarist Curt Mitchell who had worked with a previous group out of Reno, NV called 'Razormaid' so another great guitarist was found! Rusty Miller and the group parted ways, new drummer Darek Thomas Cava (ex Brunette) replaced him. After a couple shows they had offers from almost every label in town and settled with Giant Records and recorded 'On Target' released 1991/1992.
So now to the present, David Reece was asked to sing on Swedish rockers Gypsy Rose new record "Another World" in 2007 and while there they performed at the "Sweden Rock Festival". While speaking to his fans he was asked repeatedly about when there would be a new Bangalore Choir record? With the fantastic support from fans worldwide David reached out to guitarist Curt Mitchell and bassist Danny Greenberg asking if they would like to make a new record, both of them eagerly accepted the challenge. Also on this new record are guitarist Andy Susemihl of U.D.O. fame handling songwriting and guitars as well as doing a masterful job on production and Hans in't Zandt on drums. David Reece comments: ”We knew if we were to make a new record that in order for it to be viable we had to keep some of the old formula that worked so well in the past which we have done! The new record by Bangalore Choir is called "Cadence"- continuing with blistering guitars pounding rhythms and big hooky choruses.”

Soundclips in advance: Martyr / Dig Deep / Living Your Dreams.

Bangalore Choir will go on tour in Europe in early October 2010 playing such shows as the H.E.A.T. Festival as well as Firefest in England we also plan to tour the Asian market as well as some U.S. dates. Get ready for Bangalore Choir! New Website at: www.bangalore-choir.com.

FRONTIERS RECORDS TO RELEASE TWO FIRES THIRD ALBUM BURNING BRIGHT:
Napoli, July 2010 Former The Storm singer Kevin Chalfant returns at the helm of Two Fires with the band's third studio album entitled Burning Bright to be released in Europe and Asia on Frontiers Records on September 24.
Two Fires debut album in 2000 was hailed as one of the Melodic Rock highlights of that year, showcasing the return of 2 very well known faces in the Melodic Rock world: singer Kevin Chalfant and guitarist Josh Ramos, both from The Storm, a band which also featured former Journey members Ross Valory, keyboardist Gregg Rolie and drummer Steve Smith. The Storm are considered one of the best expressions of Melodic Rock in the 90's, thanks to 2 outstanding releases, the Self-titled debut album (which sported the US Top 20 hit “I've Got a Lot to Learn About Love”) on Interscope and the follow-up “Eye of the Storm” on MFN.
The Two Fires concept came about when Frontiers Records President, Serafino Perugino asked Chalfant if he wanted to put up a new band which could fill the hole left in the fans' hearts by Steve Perry's demise from Journey, and he willingly accepted this new challenge in his career. That is why he teamed up with former bandmate in The Storm, Josh Ramos, on guitar and with the cooperation of worldwide known players such as Kenny Aronoff (Jon Bon Jovi, John Cougar) on drums, Willie Weeks on bass, Jim Peterik (Survivor, Pride of Lions) on keyboards created the Two Fires debut album. Produced by Kevin himself together with his old mate George Tutko (XYZ, Alias), “Two Fires” was pure, unadulterated, AOR bliss: a massive masterpiece that re-launched this musical style in the new millennium.
Two Fires also appeared on the cover of the Rock It Magazine in Germany and Rock Time in France, plus made two live appearances at The Gods festival in 1999 and 2000, both written in stone as some of the most exciting moments in the history of the festival ever! Two Fires released later another album “Ignition”: another great example of pure melodic rock in the vein of Journey, Boston, Foreigner and classic Bryan Adams, before Ramos and Chalfant got busy pursuing other projects.
Still thanks to Perugino's request to Kevin Chalfant, Two Fires are now back with a superb new release which is set to bring back the concept to the monster debut, with songs that are set to light the hearts and minds of Melodic Rock fans. “Burning Bright” sees a new set of musicians surrounding Chalfant. “I decided to use my live band as much as possible. But I did have several special guests, one being Rex Carroll of Whitecross a wonderful guitarist, another Denny Rockey, an independent Christian music artist” says the singer.
“I wrote more than 20 tracks for this album and I believe the result is a great collection of songs that fit together well” adds Kevin Chalfant. Included on the album is also the superb “Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid”, written by the singer together with Neal Schon (Journey) and Gregg Rolie (ex Journey, Santana and of course The Storm). “That's a song I wrote with Neal and Gregg in 1993 after I performed live with Journey” tells Kevin “I believe the original design for this song was to be for Journey. I would have to say it is probably one of the stand outs on this CD. When I lived in Northern California then, it was easy to put writing sessions together at Gregg's cabin. I still have a few more of them up my sleeve. I don't have "favorite" song to speak of. All of the new songs have moments and a special meaning to me. I really love "Answer To My Prayer", "Hold On To Your Dream" and "All For One"... I guess I love the whole album, really.”
A videoclip for “Is It Any Wonder” is in the works and will be previewed during August.

“Burning Bright” final track listing includes: Is It Any Wonder; Lost In The Song; Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid; Epic In The Night; Shattered Without You; Burning Bright; Hold On To Your Dream; Still In Love; Answer To My Prayer; Relentless; All For One.
The songs “Is It Any Wonder” and “Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid” can exclusively be listened in full in streaming on the Frontiers Web radio. Tune in at: www.frontiers.it/webradio.

Musicians: Lead vocals: Kevin Chalfant; Lead, rhythm guitars and acoustic guitars: Michael “Ralph” Gardner; Drums & percussions: Timmy Higgins, Jim Widlowski, and Shawn Fichter; Rhythm and acoustic guitars: Alby Odum; Solo on “Is It Any Wonder” Super Rex Carroll; Keyboards: Chuck Giacinto; 5 String Bass: Randy Hatzer; Backing Vocals: Mike Higgins, Michael “Ralph” Gardner, Denny Rockey, Kurt Benckendorf & Kevin Chalfant. FIRST SIGNAL - VIDEO DEBUT FOR "THIS CITY":

ANOTHER BANG TANGO LINE-UP HITS THE ROAD:
Bang Tango lineup of Mark Knight, Kyle Stevens, Kyle Kyle and Tigg Ketler is reuniting with vocalist Michael DeMay. Calling themselves Bang Tango Redux, the band is scheduled to play their first gig together on August 7th at Paladino's in Tarzana, California. More dates will be announced as they are confirmed.
Guitarist Mark Knight tells Sleaze Roxx that, "We are starting with a couple of shows in town and then we will see what evolves. If it builds up and starts rolling we will do more dates. Joe LeSte has been doing it for many years with other members and I don't even know his attendance out there -- I've heard some things. But I figure there is going to be a handful of interested fans that will probably be like, 'lets hear this done by the original guys', and it will be interesting to see. I really couldn't call it. It might be just dismal."
When asked why vocalist Joe LeSte wasn't involved in the reunion Mark said, "We had tried to contact Joe in 2009 because we wanted to do a 20 year reunion of Psycho Cafe and the release of the band Bang Tango, but no one could really contact him. We tried and tried but there were no returned calls so it never evolved into anything. So we gave up on that. It was something we wanted to do with him but he didn't come around. I don't really know. There is no communication -- it's gone with him, so I don't know where he is at with it."
